Chris Cook joined the Duke coaching staff in March 2022 and serves as an analyst working primarily with the offense.

Cook comes to Durham after spending the 2021 season with the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL) as an offensive quality control coach. During his lone season in the Mile High City, Cook worked specifically with the offensive line and All-Pro Bowl selection Garett Bolles.

Prior to that, Cook worked as the tight ends and offensive tackles coach as well as the director of player development and engagement for two seasons (2019-20) at the University of Akron.

Before his time in Ohio, Cook served as the tight ends and tackles coach at his alma mater the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for two seasons (2017-18). He added recruiting coordinator duties his final season. Cook helped tight end Bailey Lenior to All-Southern Conference recognition in 2017.

He returned to his alma mater after serving the 2016 season on staff at East Carolina University as the offensive quality control coordinator and assistant offensive line coach.

In 2015, Cook served as defensive line coach and was named defensive coordinator at Independence High School in Charlotte, N.C., prior to joining former Blue Devil Scottie Montgomery's staff at ECU. He helped the Patriots to a second round NCHSAA playoff appearance. The defensive unit held opposing offenses to seven points or less six times in 2015, including two shutouts.Â

Cook served as director of the Boys & Girls Club - Teen Center in Raleigh, N.C., from 2010-15. During that time, he spent each year working with the Duke football staff at their high school prospect camps.

In 2009, he served as the defensive line coach at Weddington High School where he coached former University of Maryland defensive lineman Darius Kilgo, who was drafted in the sixth round by the Denver Broncos in 2015.Â
In the summers of 2018, 2019 and 2020, Cook was selected by the NFL for the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. He worked with the Atlanta Falcons (2018-19) and the Cleveland Browns (2020).

Cook was a three-year letterwinner (2001-03) and two-year starter at center for the Mocs, earning All-America honors in 2002. He garnered team offensive MVP accolades in 2002 and was selected a team captain prior to the 2003 season. After his college career, Cook pursued a professional football career playing in the Arena Football League - Kansas City Brigade (2007-09). Prior to signing with the Brigade, Cook worked out for the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, and Indianapolis Colts.Â

Cook graduated from UT Chattanooga with a bachelor’s degree in communications in 2009. A native of Wingate, N.C., Cook is married to the former Mandisa Foster of Kansas City, Kan., and they are the parents of son, Mayor and daughter, Paige.
