Carson Bard joined the Duke football staff in May 2022, and serves as the director of head coach operations.
Bard is familiar with Durham as she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the university in May 2021. She added a master’s degree from the university in engineering management in May 2022. While working toward her degrees, Bard served as the head football student equipment manager (2019-21), football operations student assistant (2021), Duke club tennis president and was a graduate teaching assistant in management and leadership.
In her role as the head football student equipment manager, Bard streamlined gameday operations for equipment set-up and breakdown as well as worked with the coaching staff on any daily needs. As a football operations student assistant, Bard became proficient in Teamworks and helped coordinate travel planning and communication. She also assisted in the effectiveness of ACC COVID-19 travel party protocols. In addition, Bard helped coordinate facility preparation and breakdown for visiting teams and officials.
Bard spent a brief stint with the Indianapolis Colts as an operations intern from May to September 2021 as well. While with the NFL organization, she helped organize rookie minicamp flights, shuttles, hotels, and meals. Bard also coordinated the execution of tryout player logistics and collected feedback for continuous improvement opportunities.
