Bruce Warwick joined the Duke staff in the spring of 2006 and he serves as program’s Director of Player Personnel/Development. In this capacity, Warwick is heavily involved with Duke’s recruiting efforts while serving as the program’s liaison for academic support, community relations, ACC officials, computer technology and the Iron Dukes, the fund-raising arm of the athletic department.
Warwick came to Durham following six years as the Assistant to the General Manager/Director of Football Administration for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers. Prior to his stint with the Packers, he served as the Director of Football Administration for NFL Europe in 2000.
Warwick got his start in the college gridiron ranks in 1991 as the Assistant Recruiting Coordinator at Syracuse. He then spent two years as the Assistant Athletic Director of Football Operations at Maryland before serving two years as the Assistant Athletic Director of Football Management at Clemson. Warwick returned to Syracuse in February of 1996 for a four-year stint as the Director of Football Operations.
A native of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Warwick earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Columbia College in Syracuse, N.Y., in 1989, and later received a master’s degree in sport management from the United States Sports Academy in 1993. He is married to the former Debra Zampini of Liverpool, N.Y., and the couple has two children, Alexander (born March 31, 2002) and Joseph (born March 27, 2004).
