Â
#2 Sophie Garner-MacKinnon
Cause/Organization: LGBTQ Community & The Trevor Project
Learn More: https://www.thetrevorproject.org/
Why the Cause is Important: As someone with two moms, as well as many LGBTQ teammates and friends, this cause is very near and dear to my heart. The Trevor Project, specifically, is an organization that advocates for the mental health of LGBTQ youth, which is something I think is very important.
#3 Kelly Torres
Cause/Organization: Headstrong Foundation, in honor of Kaylee Rodriguez
Learn More:Â https://headstrong.org
Why the Cause is Important: Today I play for The Headstrong Foundation, in honor of Kaylee Rodrigez and her family. Kaylee was my former teammate, who went on to play at the University of Michigan. In 2022, Kaylee was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma located in her left hip. After a long and difficult battle with her tumor, she is a survivor. Kaylee has teamed up with the Headstrong Foundation, an online campaign to raise money and awareness for families overcoming cancer. Throughout the season, I will be styling my game hair in honor of Kaylee, her village and the Headstrong Foundation.

Why the Cause is Important: The Kelsey Nalepa Foundation was created in honor of a young girl in my community who was lost due to an underage drinking and driving accident. I play for Kelsey, reminding people that drinking and driving can take away daughters, friends and teammates. I never want to put a family in this situation and implore all to help end drunk driving. The foundation aims to bring awareness to the impacts of drinking and driving, while raising funds for the Kelsey Nalepa Scholarship.
#7 Claire Davidson

Why the Cause is Important: I play for the National Coalition for the Homeless because they are working to prevent and end homelessness. Why the Cause is Important: I support the National Kidney Foundation because they have been instrumental in my family's journey with renal disease. My dad has been battling this condition for three years now, undergoing dialysis as he awaits a kidney transplant. In early March, my mom generously donated part of her kidney to him. The National Kidney Foundation, along with the incredible transplant team at UCSF, provided invaluable support and resources during this challenging time. Their dedication to kidney health and their assistance in facilitating life-saving transplants like my dad's is why I wholeheartedly endorse their cause.

Nicole Schaffer - Director of Player Development
Cause/Organization: Children's Tumor Foundation
Learn More: https://www.ctf.org
Why the Cause is Important: The Children’s Tumor Foundation is important to me because it’s a community which drives awareness, educates those around them and raises money to support research that will lead to effective treatments and hopefully one day soon - a cure. There is no one way to define NF, just like there is no one way to define a person living with this condition. Patients with visible signs of NF struggle to be seen as more than just their NF, while patients whose NF is invisible struggle to make others understand. I support this cause to help others, like myself, know that they are never alone in their journey.
