GUEST HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES
Duke University and Duke University Athletics are committed to promoting a safe environment for all guests. Guests are encouraged to make the right choice for their own safety and the safety of others around them.
Duke will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our extended community. We strongly encourage all individuals to be fully vaccinated before attending events on the Duke University campus. No proof of vaccination will be required for athletic events.
Guidelines are subject to change throughout the season. Please check GoDuke.com for updates leading up to the championship.
- Duke University no longer requires masks/face coverings for fully vaccinated individuals in outdoor congregate settings or inside most University owned and leased facilities, including Duke Athletic venues.
- Individuals who are unvaccinated are required to wear a mask/face covering in all indoor settings on campus.
- Please respect an individual's decision to wear a mask even if it is not required.
- Guests should carry a mask and be prepared to wear it in the following game day settings while on campus:
- Masks are still required for all guests in clinical and patient care areas – including game day First Aid/EMS locations and athletic training areas.
- Stay Home if feeling sick. Guests should not attend a game if they have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, new loss/change in taste or smell or have recently tested positive for COVID-19.
- An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is a contagious disease that can lead to severe illness, with individuals over 65 years of age and with underlying medical conditions being especially vulnerable. By attending an athletic event on the campus of Duke University, the individual assumes all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Accessibility Accommodations and Information
Please find below a list of disability services currently provided at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. Prior to game day, please feel free to reach out to our disabilities coordinators at 919-668-6217 to help make arrangements for your visit or if you have any special needs, questions or concerns regarding our accessibility and accommodations.
- Accessible Parking for Guests with Disabilities – STATE-ISSUED PLACARD OR PLATE REQUIRED – is available in the designated spaces in the Bivins Lot (GPS address: 4 Brodie Gym Drive), located above the Duke Softball Stadium on Brodie Gym Drive next to the Bivins Building. Please note that a state-issued parking placard or license plate is required - one car per placard. For additional assistance or questions about accessible parking for the championship, please contact Duke Disability Management at 919-668-1267. The lot opens (2) hours prior to the start of the first game each day of the championship. An accessible drop-off/pick-up point is available at the top of the Duke Softball Stadium fire lane on Brodie Gym Drive.
- Accessible Entry for Guests with Disabilities – is available via the North Gate to Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium, located across from Duke Softball Stadium.
- Accessible Seating for Guests with Disabilities – is available on the front row of the stadium bleachers. Accessible ramps are located on both ends of the bleachers.
- Accessible Restrooms for Guests with Disabilities – men’s and women’s restrooms are located at the north end of Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium next to the main entrance.
- Venue Access for Service Animals – Duke University Athletics welcomes trained Service Animals to Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. A Service Animal is a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. A Service Animal must be under the control of the handler at all times. A Service Animal must be leashed or tethered unless doing so would interfere with the task that it was trained to perform for the individual with a disability. A Service Animal must not show aggression toward people or other animals. A Service Animal does not bark, growl, or whine unless trained to do so as a warning sign to the handler. A Service Animal does not solicit food or other items from the general public. A Service Animal’s work does not disrupt the normal course of business. Service Animals should wear current rabies vaccination tags at all times or provide proof of vaccination upon request. If a Service Animal is found in violation of these guidelines, the Service Animal will be excluded from the facility or event.
- Venue Access for Service Animals in Training – in North Carolina, Service Animals in Training have the same access rights as people with disabilities using a Service Animal. The Service Animal in Training must wear a collar and leash, harness or cape that identifies it as a Service Animal in Training. Service Animals in Training should wear current rabies vaccination tags at all times or provide proof of vaccination upon request. The trainer is liable for any damage caused by the animal while on Duke University property. Service Animals in Training must be under the control of the handler at all times, must be housebroken, and must follow all behavior guidelines established for fully trained Service Animals. If the Service Animal in Training is found in violation of these guidelines, the Service Animal in Training will be excluded from Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.
- Venue Access for Emotional Support/Therapy/Companion Animals – emotional support dogs, therapy dogs and companion dogs are not Service Animals as defined by the ADA and are not permitted inside Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.
Alcohol
It is strictly prohibited to bring alcohol into Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. Individuals violating this policy are subject to ejection from the stadium.
Artificial Noisemakers
Per Atlantic Coast Conference policy for championship events, no artificial noisemakers (i.e. cowbells, whistles, clappers, thundersticks, etc.) are permitted inside the stadium.
ATM
There are no ATMs inside Duke Softball Stadium.
Bag Policy
Purses, small bags, strollers, and backpacks are permitted into Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. Duffel bags and large bags greater than 14” x 14” x 8” are not permitted. Reasonable accommodations may be made for medical and/or childcare reasons. All bags and personal items are subject to search by Event Staff upon entry.
All bags will be inspected and searched prior to entering the stadium. Duke University reserves the right to deny anyone or anything from entering the stadium. Any such items should be returned to your vehicle and/or discarded. There is no place to check or store prohibited items at the stadium.
For the safety of all in attendance, bags/items are not permitted to be left unattended outside of Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. Unattended bags/items found outside the stadium will be dealt with in a manner deemed appropriate by stadium officials, including but not limited to disposal. Duke University and Duke Athletics are not responsible for loss of any unattended items.
Banners and Signs
Banners and signs are permitted inside Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. However, the Atlantic Coast Conference and Duke Athletics reserve the right to prohibit or require the cessation of any display of a banner or sign that obstructs the view of other guests, obscures stadium signage, can be considered an advertisement, or is determined to be obscene, vulgar, indecent, inappropriate, or derogatory.
Camera Policy
Hand-held still cameras are permitted for personal use only. Cameras with a lens longer than four (4) inches are not permitted. Video cameras are prohibited from filming the game.
All championship video footage rights are the property of the Atlantic Coast Conference and its television partners. Video cameras are permitted for personal use and can be used during pre-game and halftime only.

All games of the 2022 ACC Field Hockey Championship will be broadcast live on ACC Network.

Concessions
Concessions, operated by Trident Provisions, will be located next to the grandstand of Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium throughout the championship. A great variety of food items and Coca-Cola products will be available. All concessions are cashless.
Conduct
The Atlantic Coast Conference and Duke Athletics expect all guests to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times before, during and after competition. We expect all guests to treat other guests, student-athletes, coaches and officials with courtesy. Please join us in creating a fun, safe, family atmosphere at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium by not:
- Interfering with other guests’ ability to enjoy the game
- Using or displaying foul or abusive language or gestures
- Appearing to be intoxicated or in a diminished capacity
- Entering the competition or restricted access areas
- Smoking or using tobacco products on campus
- Throwing objects onto the competition area or within the venue
- Otherwise being disorderly
Guests should contact game day staff if they feel someone is not acting appropriately. Violators are subject to ejection and possible arrest. For assistance during the championship:

Emergency Preparedness
- During any emergency inside the stadium, follow the directions of the PA announcer, event staff and emergency responders.
- Always designate a pre-determined location both inside and outside the stadium to meet friends and family in case you get separated or in the event of an emergency.
- Upon arriving at your seat location, first find the nearest exit and then locate an alternate exit in case of emergency. Exit gates for the stadium are located at:
- North Gate – located next to the stadium restrooms across from Duke Softball Stadium – ACCESSIBLE EXIT
- Northwest Gate – located behind the stadium grandstand near the merchandise tent – ACCESSIBLE EXIT
- Southwest Gate – located at the top of the stairs near the concessions stand
- Accessible exits are noted above
- See Something, Say Something – If you see or become aware of any activity that is unusual, suspicious or causes you concern, report the activity to the nearest police officer or event staff.
- Emergency vehicles may be present in and around Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium and Duke Softball Stadium during competition. Please do not obstruct the path of travel of a fire truck, ambulance or other emergency vehicle or interfere with their operations. Vehicles or objects (tents, tables, tailgate games, etc.) blocking emergency vehicles, designated fire lanes, stadium exits or exit paths, or vehicle/pedestrian traffic in general will be removed and dealt with in a manner deemed appropriate by stadium officials. Vehicles are subject to being towed at the owner's expense.
- Monitor the weather prior to the game. Take the necessary precautions to protect your family and friends in the event of severe heat or severe weather before, during or after the game.
- In the event of inclement weather that suspends competition, please be prepared to evacuate the stadium and return to your vehicle.
Emotional Support/Therapy/Companion Animals
Emotional support dogs, therapy dogs, and companion dogs are not Service Animals as defined by the ADA and are not permitted inside our venues.
First Aid/Emergency Medical Assistance
For first aid and emergency medical assistance, please visit the designated First Aid location in the northwest corner near the merchandise tent. In case of emergency, contact the nearest Event Staff member, call Duke Police at 919-684-2444 or call 9-1-1 to reach Durham Police.
Gates (Stadium Entry)
All gates to Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium will open 60 minutes prior to the first game each day of the championship on Tuesday (12:00 PM), Wednesday (12:00 PM) and Friday (1:00 PM).
Guest entry is at the North Gate, located across from Duke Softball Stadium, and is accessible to guests with disabilities.
All personal items are subject to inspection prior to entering the stadium.
Lost and Found
If any article is lost or found in the stadium, please inquire about or report the item to the nearest Event Staff member. Items turned in during the championship will be delivered to Ticket Tent at the main entrance to Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. All lost and found items will be available for pick-up throughout the championship.
All lost and found items not picked up prior to the end of the competition will be available for pick-up by contacting Duke Game Operations. Please call (919) 668-5658 or email duaa-gameops@duke.edu to inquire about lost items. Unclaimed lost and found items will be retained for thirty (30) days following the event. After that time, any unclaimed items will be discarded.
Media Operations & Media Will Call
All media and photographers should contact the Atlantic Coast Conference or Duke Athletics Communications prior to the championship for credentials.
Media Will Call for the ACC Field Hockey Championships will be located at the ticket tent at North Gate of Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium, across from Duke Softball Stadium. Media Will Call will open (60) minutes prior to the start of the first game each day of the championship (Tuesday 12:00 PM, Wednesday 12:00 PM, Friday 1:00 PM).
Merchandise
Official ACC Field Hockey Championship merchandise will be sold at the merchandise tent located in the northwest corner of Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.
Parking Information
- Parking Disclaimer
- Championship parking is available only in the designated Duke University parking lots listed below. Please do not park in the Whole Foods or Shops at Erwin Mill parking lots as shopping centers will ticket and tow vehicles at the owner’s expense. There is no street parking in the neighborhoods around Duke University East Campus.
- Duke University and the Atlantic Coast Conference assumes no responsibility for loss through fire, theft, collision, or otherwise to the car or contents. Vehicles are parked at Owner's Risk. Please lock your vehicle.
- Parking Hours – lots open two (2) hours prior to the first game each day of the championship – Tuesday 11:00 AM, Wednesday 11:00 AM, Friday 12:00 PM.
- General Public Parking – is available free of charge throughout the championship.

In the event of parking overflow, guests will be directed to the R1/2 Lot on Hillsborough Road (GPS Address: 2180 Hillsborough Road).
- Tailgating – Due to the impact on daily campus operations, tailgating is NOT permitted in game day parking lots. Guests may use the grass areas around Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium and Duke Softball Stadium for group tailgates. Vehicles are not permitted to drive on pedestrian paths to reach tailgate areas.
- Parking Emergency Information - in case of emergency please dial 919-684-2444 for Duke Police Emergency Dispatch or dial 9-1-1 for Durham County. Duke Police will be the primary responder on campus for emergency calls. Durham Police will be the primary responder off-campus for emergency calls. If an emergency occurs and authorities are contacted, please designate someone in your party to help direct emergency personnel to the emergency location.
Personal Pets
Personal pets are not permitted inside Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium during competition.
- Exception: Service Animals assisting guests with disabilities and Service Animals in Training.
- Note: Therapy dogs, emotional support dogs, and companion dogs are not Service Animals as defined by the ADA and are not permitted inside the venue.

- Tents or canopies of any kind in the seating area

Re-Entry

Restrooms
Men’s and women’s restrooms are located behind the north goal near the main entrance to Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. All restrooms are accessible for guests with disabilities. Guests in need of a gender-neutral or family restroom should see the nearest event staff member and ask them to contact Duke Game Operations for assistance.
Seating
Bleacher seating is available in the grandstand of Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. All seating is general admission and available on a first-come, first serve basis.
Seating for guests with disabilities is available on the front row of the stadium bleachers. Accessible ramps are located at both ends of the bleachers.
For guest safety, standing is not permitted behind along the fence behind either goal cage inside the striking circle.
Service Animals
Duke University Athletics welcomes trained Service Animals to Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. Severe Weather Procedure
The Atlantic Coast Conference and Duke Game Operations will monitor the weather leading up to and throughout the championship
If a storm producing severe weather (including lightning) will come within fifteen (15) miles of the stadium, the PA Announcer will make an announcement to notify guests of the severe weather in the area and that guest may leave and re-enter the stadium later if they wish to seek shelter.
A mandatory evacuation of the stadium will occur if a storm producing severe weather (including lightning) will come within eight (8) miles of the stadium. The PA Announcer will direct all guests to clear the stadium and seek shelter immediately. In most scenarios, guests will be directed to their vehicles for shelter. If it is unsafe for guests to return to their vehicles, the PA Announcer will designate the nearest shelter location. Event Staff will be available to direct guests and offer assistance to guests with disabilities.
Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium will remain closed until severe weather including lightning is clear of an eight (8) mile radius of the venue. Resumption of competition will only occur once an all clear has been given and conditions are deemed safe after consultation among the Atlantic Coast Conference, Duke Game Operations, Duke Police and Game Officials. Stadium re-entry will be permitted at that time with a valid ticket for the day’s competition. All personal items are subject to inspection upon re-entry.
Smoking
As of July 1, 2020, Duke University became a Tobacco-Free Campus, including match days at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. The policy prohibits the use of all tobacco-based products, including but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, chewing tobacco, snuff, and electronic smoking devices (including e-cigarettes, vaping products, and IQOS). Strollers
Strollers are permitted inside Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. Please note that there is no stroller check inside the stadium. Guests may park strollers under the stadium bleachers at their own risk. Duke University and the Atlantic Coast Conference assume no responsibility for loss of any items left in unattended strollers.
Ticket Information
All games of the ACC Field Hockey Championship are ticketed. All tickets will be scanned upon entry at the stadium gates.
- Ticket Prices: All seats in Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium are general admission, bleacher seating.
- Championship Pass: $10.00 (all days, all games)
- Adult Day Pass: $5.00 (one day, all games)
- 18 and under: Free
- ACC Students with School ID: Free
- Digital Ticketing – Purchase tickets at any time online prior to or on game day from your computer or mobile device by visiting www.goduke.com/tickets. All championship passes and day passes will be digital tickets.
- ACC Student Tickets – ACC students eligible for free admission must pick up tickets at the game day ticket tent prior to entering the stadium. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis as part of general game day sales. There are no tickets specifically held or set aside for students.

Umbrellas
Umbrellas are permitted inside Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. For the courtesy and safety of all guests, please use caution when raising umbrellas in the stands and do not obstruct the view of other guests or staff.
