DURHAM, N.C. – Duke sophomore first baseman Chris Crabtree has been named to the Coastal Plain League 2019 All-Star Showdown roster, announced by the league earlier this week.
Crabtree, a member of the Holly Springs Salamanders, has played in 14 games this summer and ranks fourth on the team in batting average with a mark of .327, while ranking third in hits with 18 and first in slugging percentage (.655). The Bahama, N.C., native leads the team in home runs with five on the summer campaign, which also ties him for seventh in the Coastal Plain League.
The 2019 All-Star Showdown will be held in Savannah, Ga., at historic Grayson Stadium, marking the 21st year that the CPL has played an All-Star Game. The two-day Showdown will feature six teams consisting of 12 players each broken down as follows: West Division All-Stars, East Division All-Stars, North Division All-Stars, South Division All-Stars, Fan Voted All-Stars and Team Savannah. The Divisional teams are selected based on votes from CPL head coaches, broadcasters and one media representative per team.
