Duke Posts Back-to-Back 30 Win Seasons
With a 31-22 overall record in 2015, the Blue Devils recorded 30 wins for the 12th time in program history and back-to-back 30 win seasons for the first time since 2008-09 … Head coach Chris Pollard is the first Blue Devil head coach to guide the team to two 30 win seasons in his first three campaigns.

Six Blue Devils Taken in MLB Draft
Six Blue Devils were selected in the 2015 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft in junior RHP Michael Matuella (3rd Round | No. 78 Overall | Texas Rangers), senior RHP Sarkis Ohanian (9th Round | No. 265 Overall | Cincinnati Reds), junior RHP Kenny Koplove (17th Round | No. 504 Overall | Philadelphia Phillies), senior RHP Andrew Istler (23rd Round | No. 702 | Los Angeles Dodgers), incoming freshman Griffin Conine (31st Round | No. 926 Overall | Miami Marlins) and redshirt sophomore James Marvel (36th Round | No. 1,087 Overall | Pittsburgh Pirates) … Duke had five current players selected, the team’s highest total since seven Blue Devils were taken in the 2009 MLB Draft … Matuella and Ohanian became the first Duke teammates picked in the first 10 rounds of the draft since 2002 since Larry Broadway (3rd Round | No. 77 Overall | Montreal Expos) and Kevin Kelly (5th Round, No. 157 Overall | San Francisco Giants). … Duke had five pitchers taken in a single draft for the first time in program history … The Blue Devils have had 31 players drafted over the past 15 years, including eight under head coach Chris Pollard.

After graduating 14 seniors in 2014, Duke relied heavily on its bevy of talented underclassmen this past season ... The Blue Devil roter featured 14 freshmen ... Six rookies -- Justin Bellinger, Evan Dougherty, Jack Labosky, Max Miller, Michael Smiciklas and Peter Zyla -- all started 25 or more games ... Duke played a season-high 13 freshmen April 5 at then-No. 12 Miami ... Five Blue Devil freshmen pitched 17 or more innings in Ryan Day, Mitch Stallings, Jack Labosky, Chris McGrath and Luke Whitten ... Those five combined for an 11-6 record and 3.21 ERA.

Koplove Sets School Saves Record
Junior Kenny Koplove had a tremendous campaign for the Blue Devils in 2015, serving as the team’s starting shortstop and primary closer … For his efforts, he was named to the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Watch List after starting 43 games at shortstop and making 21 relief appearances … Koplove set the program single-season record with 11 saves in 2015 … He posted a 2.13 ERA, allowing just six earned runs over 25.1 innings … Koplove struck out 37 batters and average 13.1 strikeouts per nine innings … In addition, he ranked fourth on the team with a .279 batting average, adding seven doubles while scoring 16 runs … His hometown Philadelphia Phillies drafted Koplove in the 17th round (No. 504 Overall) of the 2015 MLB Draft.

Istler Among Top Duke Pitchers
One of the most versatile pitchers in program history, senior right-hander Andrew Istler finished his collegiate career with a 3.33 ERA in 88 appearances … He ranked eighth in program history in ERA (3.33), fourth in career saves (12) and ninth in career wins (20) … Istler became one of three Duke pitchers to amass 20 or more career wins as well as 10 or more career saves, joining David Darwin and Ryan Jackson … As a senior in 2015, he anchored the Duke weekend rotation, starting 14 games on the mound … Istler posted a 5-5 record and 3.23 ERA this past season, leading the team in innings pitched (86.1) and strikeouts (82).

Perez Takes Home All-ACC Honors
Duke senior second baseman Andy Perez earned second team All-ACC honors for the second time in his career this past season … Perez served as the Blue Devils’ offensive catalyst, starting all 53 games at second base and hitting out of the leadoff spot … He finished the season with a .290 batting average, 14 doubles, three triples, three home runs and 35 stolen bases … The Roswell, Ga., native led the team in hits (61) runs (39), doubles (14) and stolen bases (35) … Defensively, he led all ACC second basemen with a .995 fielding percentage, committing just one error on the season.
Perez on the Base Paths
In addition to his phenomenal year at the plate, senior Andy Perez also set the school single-season stolen base record in 2015, breaking the previous record of 33 set by Quinton McCracken in 1992 … Perez became the third player in Duke history to swipe 30 or more bases in a single season … Over the past 20 seasons, Perez and Will Piwnica-Worms (21, 2011) were the only two Blue Devils to steal 20 or more bases in a single season … Perez accomplished the feat twice, registering 22 stolen bases in 2014 … He finished his career ranked third in the program records with 79 career stolen bases.

Ohanian Has Career Year
Senior Sarkis Ohanian was instrumental to the success of the Duke bullpen in 2015 ... He posted career bests in ERA (1.97), strikeouts (58) and walks allowed (6) ... He was one of just three ACC pitchers to throw 45.0 or more innings and post an ERA under 2.00 ... In addition, Ohanian was one of two reliefs pitcher to accomplish that feat, joining Virginia's Josh Sborz.

Zyla Leads Team in Batting Average
Freshman Peter Zyla led the Blue Devils with a .331 batting average and .441 slugging percentage … He had at least one hit in 35 of the 40 games he started … Zyla’s ? multiple hit games trailed only senior Andy Perez for the team lead … Zyla became the first Duke freshman since Vaughn Schill in 1997 to lead the Blue Devils in batting average … He finished the season ranked ninth in the ACC in batting average … Zyla’s .331 average was also the third-highest among league freshmen, trailing only Clemson’s Reed Rohlman (.356) and Wake Forest’s Stuart Fairchild (.349) … In addition, his average was the highest by a Blue Devil since Jeff Kremer hit .347 in 2011.
