DURHAM, N.C. – Duke earned a spot in the NCAA semifinals for the second time in three seasons and sixth time overall in 2015, compiling a 14-7 ledger and concluding the fall ranked sixth in the final Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll.

Blue Devils Round Out Season in Top 10
After compiling a 14-7 ledger and advancing to the program’s sixth national semifinal, the Blue Devils were ranked sixth in the final national poll conducted by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) ... Duke finished among the top 10 teams in the final rankings for the third straight year.
Duke in the NCAA Championship
The Blue Devils made the program’s sixth appearance in the national semifinals and second in the past three seasons ... Duke owns an all-time record of 21-14 (.600) in the NCAA Tournament after the squad fell to North Carolina in the semifinals ... The Blue Devil program has received bids to the tournament 14 times, including four out of the last five years under head coach Pam Bustin’s leadership.
Veteran Duo Tabbed All-Americans
Redshirt senior goalkeeper Lauren Blazing and senior midfielder Aileen Johnson were selected for All-America honors by the NFHCA at the conclusion of the season ... Blazing was recognized with first team accolades while Johnson earned a spot on the second team ... Both were All-Americans a year ago ... Duke featured multiple All-America selections for the third consecutive season.
Blazing Nets Postseason Accolades
After concluding an impressive career by leading Duke to the NCAA semifinals for the second time in three seasons, redshirt senior goalkeeper Lauren Blazing was named one of four nominees for the prestigious Honda Sport Award for field hockey ... Presented annually by the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA), the Honda Sport Award signifies the “best of the best in collegiate athletics” ... Blazing was also named the recipient of the Elite 90 award at the NCAA Championship banquet in Ann Arbor.

In the final edition of the NCAA Division I team statistics, the Blue Devils ranked ninth in defensive saves with 10 on the season ... Duke also ranked among the top 30 teams in the country in goals against average (14th, 1.42), scoring margin (20th, 0.87), shutouts per game (22nd, 0.19), goals per game (30th, 2.38) and points per game (30th, 6.71).

The Blue Devils rounded out the season by facing a top-15 opponent for the 18th time in 21 games, giving them the nation’s strongest schedule ... The 2015 slate featured 13 teams ranked in the final Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I poll of the season, including four of the top five squads in No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Syracuse, No. 4 Virginia and No. 5 Maryland.

Blazing paced ACC goalkeepers and ranked eighth in the country in save percentage (.786) for the season ... Sophomore back Alyssa Chillano led the ACC in defensive saves (6), while the defensive unit posted a goals against average of 1.42 ... The Blue Devils notched their fourth shutout of the season in the NCAA first round victory over Stanford.

Blazing owns a career record of 49-29 in her four years as Duke’s starting goalkeeper.
Morris, Kristen Form High-Scoring Duo
Junior Heather Morris and sophomore Ashley Kristen headlined a balanced Blue Devil attack in 2015 ... Morris paced the squad in points and goals while Kristen was second in those categories and first in assists ... Kristen also finished the year ranked sixth in the ACC in assists per game (0.43) ... The pair connected six times to generate scores on the season ... Four other Blue Devils also tallied double figures in the points column - senior midfielder Aileen Johnson (12), junior midfielder Hunter Bracale (11), sophomore back Alyssa Chillano (10) and senior back Amanda Kim (10).
