Upcoming Event: Track & Field versus Duke Invitational on April 8, 2026

DURHAM, N.C. -- The Duke men’s basketball team held its annual autograph session and open practice Saturday morning, welcoming members of the public to Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devil Network caught sights and sounds from the event.
Fans traveled from far and wide, lining Cameron’s corridors with a variety of Duke paraphernalia in hand to have signed by the Blue Devils. Chad from Forest City, N.C., traveled over three hours to attend the morning’s event.
“I’ve been coming to the open practices since ’02, and all of the Countdown to Craziness events,” Chad said. “I just enjoy it. I love Duke basketball. I knew we could come back today, bring the kids, and get their autographs. Normally you have to catch them after practice or before practice to ask them to sign something. It’s awesome that the kids don’t need to fight through people. They just line up and get their autographs.”
Neil, a native of Durham, N.C., made a much shorter trip, but experienced the open-practice event for the first time.
“I’ve been a fan since I was born,” Neil said. “Anyone my father roots for, I go against. He’s a Tar Heel fan, and I’m a Duke fan. I’ve never met anyone from Duke. This is a first time for me, so it’s been an exciting event. The players were really nice. The line was long, but I was willing to wait. The players were real easy to talk to.”
Following the morning’s autograph session, the players returned to the locker room, suited up, and hit the court for practice. Fans watched while the team ran drills and worked through simulated game situations while head coach Mike Krzyzewski provided commentary and insight to the spectators.
Duke opens exhibition play with Livingstone in Cameron Indoor Stadium Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m.
