Summer Spotlight: OL Laken Tomlinson
DURHAM, N.C. – Today’s Summer Spotlight shines on redshirt sophomore offensive guard Laken Tomlinson, who has received preseason All-ACC honors from several national publications this summer.
Tomlinson, a native Chicago, Ill., was a first team Freshman All-America pick by Sporting News in 2011 after being part of a Duke line that opened holes for 19 rushing touchdowns, a total that matched the program’s highest output since 1995. He also received Academic All-ACC accolades last fall.
Along with nine teammates, Tomlinson embarked on a trip to Ethiopia in May for a well-digging project, and reflects on the journey in today’s Spotlight.
The Blue Devils open the 2012 season with a home contest against FIU on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. Duke season tickets are available online at www.GoDuke.com/tickets or by calling the Duke Athletic Ticket Office at 919-681-BLUE.
