DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University will enshrine five new members into the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday, September 9. Slated for induction are Ben Bennett (football), Jenny Chuasiriporn (golf), Bobby Hurley (basketball),
Mike Krzyzewski (coach) and Vanessa Webb (tennis).
Today’s video feature is on Jenny Chuasiriporn. A native of Timonium, Md., Chuasiriporn was a four-time All-America selection as a member of Duke’s women’s golf program from 1996-99, earning first team accolades in her final three seasons. After earning ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 1996, she captured the league’s Player of the Year award three straight years (1997-98-99). Chuasiriporn helped the Blue Devils to four ACC championships as well as the 1999 NCAA title, and was honored with the 1999 Golfstat Cup after leading the nation in stroke average (72.94). The runner-up at the 1998 U.S. Women’s Open, she continues to rank among Duke’s all-time leaders in individual tournament victories (7) and top-10 finishes (27) and rounds of even par or better (42).
