DURHAM, N.C. - Senior midfielder/defender Rhian Jones recently sat down with GoDuke.com. Read the Q&A below to learn more about the Havertown, Pa., native.
GoDuke.com: What embarrassing music do you have on your ipod?
Rhian Jones: I have a ton of embarrassing music on my iPod. I pretty much listen to everything - Justin Bieber, Brittany Spears - so there is plenty of incriminating music on there.
GoDuke.com: What's your favorite movie?
RJ: "Dumb and Dumber"
GoDuke.com: Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?
RJ: No, I don't. I'm normally pretty relaxed before games. I actually yawn before every game, so that's pretty weird.
GoDuke.com: What's on your bucket list?
RJ: I'd like to go to all of the continents. So I have Asia and Antarctica left, but I'm not so sure about Antarctica. I'd like to try sky-diving at some point, but probably after I'm done with field hockey just in case anything goes wrong.
GoDuke.com: What's your favorite home cooked meal?
RJ: My mom's salmon.
GoDuke.com: Who would you trade places with for a day?
RJ: Whoever is dating Justin Timberlake.
GoDuke.com: Who would be your dream date?
RJ: Definitely Justin Timberlake.
GoDuke.com: What's your worst habit?
RJ: Probably all of my driving habits. I'm a terrible driver, so lack of focus on the road and probably having my radio too loud.
GoDuke.com: I wish I knew how to _______.
RJ: Whistle.
GoDuke.com: What's the biggest obstacle you've have to overcome regarding field hockey?
RJ: I was diagnosed with an iron deficiency anemia in my sophomore year. That was difficult to overcome because I had to be patient with it, waiting for that to build back up and not being able to physically do the things I mentally wanted to do on the field.
GoDuke.com: Where do you like to study on campus?
RJ: I like to study in the Law School Library.
GoDuke.com: Describe your coach in one word.
RJ: Heart.
GoDuke.com: Iphone/Blackberry/Droid
RJ: Well this is interesting because I get made fun of a lot for this. Samsung flip phone. (laughs)
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite Durham restaurant?
RJ: Von Rouge.
