GoDuke.com: Why Did You Choose Duke?
Conner Vernon: It had a lot to do with the education and I knew Donovan (Varner) from high school and Thaddeus (Lewis) from before. Those guys and the coaches had a big influence in my decision. My parents wanted me to get a good education and of my three schools Duke came out on top.
GD: Any Brothers or Sisters?
CV: I have an older brother who is 21 and just graduated from the University of Miami.
GD: What number did you wear in high school?
CV: No. 7 ... My brother also wore the number before me so I asked for it and they gave it to me.
GD: What sport would you play besides football?
CV: Baseball ... I am a lefty, I used to pitch and play outfield. I played baseball all the way up until high school when I stuck with football.
GD: What was your favorite NFL team and player growing up?
CV: I would probably say the Tennessee Titans because my uncle played for them. My favorite player was Reggie Wayne.
GD: What websites do you visit most?
CV: Clothing websites, music websites and youtube
GD: What do you like to do outside of football?
CV: I like to play sports like basketball. Mostly just hanging out with guys on the team.
GD: Who is your roommate this year?
CV: Sean Schroeder
GD: After football what job would you like to have?
CV: I haven't really thought about it but I would like to stick with the sports field so maybe I will be an agent.
GD: Any talents outside of football?
CV: I am pretty good with electronics, like computers and setting up things with the wiring.
