CANCUN, Mexico-The Duke women's basketball team has been enjoying the tropical destination of Cancun, Mexico for the last two days following a win against Charlotte on Monday night.
The trip started very early and many of the team and staff didn't even attempt to sleep on Monday night following the Charlotte game since we had to leave Cameron Indoor Stadium at 4:00 a.m., on Tuesday morning for the airport. Everything went very smooth with both flights and we touched down in Cancun by 11:00 a.m.
Coach P came back on the bus on the way to the hotel and gave the team some good news and bad news. The good news was there wasn't going to be practice like there was supposed to be and the bad news was there was going to be a video session at 5:30 p.m. So the team had all afternoon to enjoy the sights, sun, pool, beach and all the eats they wanted.
Many of the team members stayed by the pool, did some water sports and even took in some men's basketball games that were going on at the resort. Everyone had a great time.
On Tuesday, the weather wasn't as good as it rained off and on most of the day so the team relaxed most of the day and then went to video and practice.
The focus now turns to Western Kentucky with a game at 5:00 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday.
