Duke Travels To Clemson
The Duke Blue Devils (4-5, 1-4 ACC) will go back on the road this weekend as they travel to Clemson, S.C., to face the Clemson Tigers (4-4, 2-4 ACC) at 12 noon in Memorial Stadium. The game will be televised by Raycom with Steve Martin (play-by-play), Rick ?Doc’ Walker (analysis) and Mike Hogewood (sideline) calling the action. The game can also be heard on the Duke Radio Network with Bob Harris (play-by-play), Wes Chesson (analysis) and Anthony Dilweg (sideline) announcing the game. Duke has lost two straight after a 27-17 setback to N.C. State last weekend while Clemson lost at Florida State, 41-27. Saturday will be the Tigers’ homecoming. Duke defeated Vanderbilt, 10-7, in a road homecoming game on Oct. 25.
2007: Blue Devils Fall At Home, 47-10
Duke scored first on a seven-yard touchdown pass from Thaddeus Lewis to Eron Riley but the Tigers broke the game wide open with a Cullen Harper three-yard touchdown run, a safety by Cortney Vincent and an 93-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by C.J. Spiller in a 39-second span at the end of the second quarter. Following a Lewis interception in the third period, James Davis made it 30-7 with a 70-yard touchdown run. Davis had eight carries for 118 yards in the game. Clemson went on to win 47-10, holding Duke to 198 yards of total offense. Harper accounted for three touchdowns, including two through the air to Aaron Kelly. Lewis led Duke with 160 yards on 15-of-26 passing with one TD and one interception.

In a series that dates back to 1934, Clemson leads the all-time ledger with Duke by a 34-16-1 count. In Clemson, the Tigers have won 17-of-22 meetings. Duke opened the series with four straight wins, but the Tigers have had recent success against the Blue Devils with a 22-4 record since 1981. Duke’s last win against the Tigers came four seasons ago in Durham when the Blue Devils claimed a 16-13 decision on November 13, 2004.

Duke Loses At Home Against N.C. State
The Blue Devils and Wolfpack met for the first time since 2003 last Saturday with N.C. State claiming a 27-17 win in Durham. The Wolfpack’s J.C. Neal returned a kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown with the score tied 3-3 and Russell Wilson helped give N.C. State a 24-10 halftime lead with touchdown passes of two and 32 yards in the second quarter. The Blue Devils held the Wolfpack to three second half points but fell short in the end, 27-17. Thaddeus Lewis led Duke, completing 37-of-52 passes for 317 yards and two touchdowns.
Clemson Scouting Report
The Tigers are led by its running back duo of James Davis and C.J. Spiller. Davis leads the team in rushing with 526 yards on 108 carries and six touchdowns. Spiller has 69 carries for 435 yards and six touchdowns to go with 18 receptions for 271 yards and two touchdowns. Michael Hamlin leads the defense with 67 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions and four pass breakups.
