DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke junior wide receiver Eron Riley has earned Second Team All-ACC honors as voted on by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association and released Monday by the Associated Press.
Riley, a 6-3, 200-pound native of Savannah, Ga., had 40 pass receptions for 830 yards and nine touchdowns in becoming Duke's first all-league wide receiver since 1997 when Scottie Montgomery garnered second team accolades. In the conference, Riley ranks first in yards per reception (20.8), second in in touchdown receptions and fourth in receiving yards per game (69.2). Nationally, he ranks fifth in yards per catch and tied for 24th in touchdown grabs.
Against Navy on September 22, Riley caught six passes for a career-high 235 yards and four touchdowns to earn ACC Player of the Week honors. The four touchdown receptions matched Duke's single-game record while the 235-yard outing marked the fifth-highest single-game total in school history. On Duke's single-season charts, Riley's 2007 performance ranks sixth for touchdown catches and eighth in receiving yards.
On Duke's career charts, Riley currently ranks tied for fourth in 100-yard receiving games (5), seventh in touchdown receptions (14) and eighth in receiving yardage (1,720).
