Upcoming Event: Track & Field versus NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 10, 2026

DURHAM, N.C. ? After a stellar four-year career at Duke University, senior Jessica Foley has signed a contract with the Adelaide Fellas of the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) in Australia.
Foley, a native of Wodonga, Victoria, Australia, was selected in the third round of the April 5 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever, but recently found another stress fracture in her foot and decided not to play with the Fever in 2006. She will be able to play in Indiana for the 2007 WNBA campaign.
It marks the second straight summer Foley has been sidelined by a foot injury, but she is planning on taking some time off before joining Adelaide in August. Foley was said to be the No. 1 recruiting target for several major WNBL clubs.
Adelaide registered a 14-7 overall record last season and is coached by Chris Lucas.
One of the top three-point shooters to play at in the ACC, Foley finished her career with 175 treys and 490 three-pointers attempted, which both rank second all-time at Duke. As a senior, Foley came off the bench to average 5.6 points, 1.7 assists, 1.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 35 contests.
She hit 40.2 percent of her three-point field goal attempts on the year. In the ACC charts, she concluded her career 21st in three-pointers made and 22nd in three-pointers attempted. Foley led the Blue Devils to a 31-4 overall record in 2005-06 and a trip to the National Championship game. In the contest against Maryland, Foley registered 10 points in only 15 minutes of action as she hit 3-of-6 field goals and two three-pointers.
