DURHAM, N.C. - Duke's J.J. Redick and Gonzaga's Adam Morrison are both featured on this week's cover of Sports Illustrated. SI's Grant Wahl takes a look at Redick and Morrison's unique friendship and gives the results of an SI survey of 67 players, one from each of the six traditional power conferences to vote for player of the year among other things.
The article states: "The reason cited most often by those who voted for Redick was that he has played against tougher competition within the ACC. In fact, Duke ranks third in the nation in strength of schedule; Gonzaga, a member of the mid-major West Coast Conference, is 90th."
About their freindship it states: "Because Redick and Morrison communicate so often in their digital-driven friendship?by cellphone, text-messaging and their Halo 2 headsets?it’s easy to forget they’ve met in person only once, at the 2004 Michael Jordan summer camp. Off the court they’re not much alike...but "The common denominator is that we both love basketball,' Redick says."
The edition of the magazines hits news stands Wednesday, March 1.
