Senior goalkeeper Justin Trowbridge was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week after posting his fourth and fifth shutouts of the year in a pair of wins over Campbell and conference-foe Clemson.
Trowbridge recorded his first shutout of the week in Duke's 3-0 win over Campbell on Wednesday. The senior goalkeeper made four saves against the Camels in 90 minutes of action.
In Saturday's 1-0 win over Clemson, the Tampa, Fla. native registered his fifth shutout of the year, making a save in the Blue Devils first conference win of the season. Trowbridge has not allowed a single goal in 495 minutes of action this season. Duke's seven shutouts to start the season are a new school record for consecutive shutouts. Trowbridge now has 10 shutouts for his collegiate career.
Trowbridge and the 25th-ranked Blue Devils are back in action this week as they host East Carolina on Wednesday and then travel to College Park for a Saturday match-up against the top-ranked Maryland Terrapins.
