DURHAM, N.C. - Three members of Duke men's soccer team earned spots on the 2001 All-ACC teams. Junior Donald McIntosh (Lake Mary, Fla.) was the lone first-team selection, while senior Kevin Sakuda (Fremont, Calif.) and sophomore Jordan Cila (Jericho, N.Y.) received second-team honors.
McIntosh, a midfielder, has two goals and four assists this season, giving him 10 goals and 12 assists for his career. The Lake Mary, Fla. native assisted on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over 12th-ranked Maryland earlier this season. McIntosh has made 53 career starts and was a 1999 ACC All-Tournament selection.
Sakuda has been the anchor of a strong Blue Devil defense throughout his four-year career. The senior defender has guided Duke to five shutouts this season, while also posting two assists. Sakuda, a starter of 81 consecutive contests at Duke, owns one goal and 12 assists for his career. He has also been named to the 1999 NSCAA/adidas All-South team, the 1998 SoccerNews All-Freshman team and the 1998 ACC All-Tournament team.
Cila, a sophomore forward, leads Duke with 8 goals, 8 assists and 24 points this season. The Jericho, N.Y. native had one goal and two assists in a 4-0 win over Richmond and scored a goal and assisted on a second in a 3-2 double overtime loss to 10th-ranked Rutgers earlier this year. Cila tallied two goals in a 2-0 win over N.C. State and has now started 36 of 37 games played at Duke. Last season, he was also a second team All-ACC selection.
