Duke Wrestling Drops Match to Appalachian State 29-6

DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke wrestling team was defeated by Appalachian State on Saturday, 29-6 in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils are now 4-3 in dual matches. Junior Tommy Hoang garnered one of two Duke victories by winning in the 125 pound class 6-4. Junior Harry Clarke earned a 3-2 win in the 141 pound class.

"I'm a little disappointed with tonight," said head coach Clar Anderson. "On the other hand we have wrestled a lot this week and a lot of our guys just weren't themselves tonight. We have to get ready and come back tomorrow to compete in tough matches."

The Blue Devils head to Raleigh on Saturday, January 13, to compete in the N. C. State duals. Duke will face VMI at 12:00 p.m., Campbell at 4:00 p.m. and The Citadel at 8:00 p.m.
