AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Duke women's golf duo of
Rianne Malixi and
Andie Smith are set to open action on one of the biggest stages of amateur golf as the Augusta National Women's Amateur (ANWA) commences Wednesday in Augusta. The competition will take place April 1-4.
The event is set to take place April 1-2 at Champions Retreat Golf Club and April 4 at Augusta National Golf Club.
Both Malixi and Smith will compete in the ANWA for the second time in their careers. In 2024, Malixi missed the cut with rounds of 74 and 79, while having to withdraw last year due to an injury. In 2025, Smith totaled a 3-under, 69, in round one, but closed the second day with a 75 and missed the cut.
An international field of 72 women amateurs will compete over 54 holes of stroke play. A cut will take place after 36 holes, advancing the leading 30 players to the final round at Augusta National Golf Club. In the event of a tie after 54 holes, the winner will be decided by a sudden-death playoff.
The first 36 holes will be contested over two days on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 3. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 4 and will feature the top 30 competitors who made the cut.
In the latest Women's Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), Malixi is ranked No. 15 and Smith is No. 65. The field of 72 goals will feature 48 of the top 50 golfers in the world.
Over the six years of action, Duke will now have 23 spots taken by Blue Devils that will compete with the other top amateur golfers in the country.
For a fourth consecutive year, Golf Channel will provide live coverage of the first and second rounds of the Augusta National Women's Amateur from Champions Retreat Golf Club. NBC Sports will broadcast the event's final round from Augusta National Golf Club.
To watch, head to the Golf Channel Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The final round will be aired on NBC from 12-3 p.m. Golf Channel's "Live From the Masters" will begin Friday, April 3 from Augusta National and wrap the ANWA coverage on Saturday.
