MALAGA, Spain – Duke women's golf incoming freshman Martina Navarro Navarro turned in a tied for third-place finish over the weekend at the Spanish U-18 Women's Championship, which was contested at Real Club de Golf Guadalmina in Malaga.
Navarro Navarro carded rounds of 70, 79, 68 and 72 over the four days to finish with a 1-over-par, 289. She registered 11 birdies over the 72 holes, while also notching an eagle and a hole-in-one during the first round on No. 14. Navarro Navarro's third round of 68 was tied for the second-lowest round of the tournament.
Carolina Perez-Tasso Rodriguez earned the title with a 6-under, 282.
Navarro Navarro will next compete in the International of France from April 2-6.
