DURHAM, N.C. – Duke track and field features a split squad this weekend, as the Blue Devils gear up to compete Feb. 6-7 at the Doc Hale Invitational (Blacksburg, Virginia) and JDL Camel City Invite in Winston-Salem.

WHAT TO KNOW:
- Duke will be represented by 21 student-athletes across the two meets. Eleven Blue Devils will compete at the Doc Hale Invitational, while 10 are slated to take part in events at the JDL Camel City Invitational.
- In the latest USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings, Duke appears among the top 10 in the women's 5000m (3rd) and 200m (8th).
- Eight Blue Devils are ranked in the top-25 nationally in their respective events: Braelyn Baker (9th – 300m; T18th – 200m), Bailey Goggans (20th – 500m; 21st – 600m), Abby Hassman (23rd – 5000m), Julia Jackson (2nd – 500m), Andres Langston (14th – 500m), Stephanie Moss (21st – 5000m), Lauren Tolbert (3rd – 500m; 12th – 600m; 20th – 400m; 24th – 300m) and Beck Wittstadt (14th – 1000m; 15th – 1500m).
- Duke's women's 4x400m quartet of Jackson, Tolbert, Maya Collins and Baker is ranked No. 7 in the NCAA.

LAST TIME OUT:
- Duke continued its strong indoor season, wrapping up competition at the Liberty Brant Tolsma Elite Invitational with five events wins, two top-five Duke marks and a handful of meet records.
- The Blue Devils garnered wins in two track events and three field events, closing out the month of January with first-place finishes in the 60 meters, 200 meters, heptathlon, long jump and pole vault.
- Duke's women notched four of the victories, with the efforts paced by Mia Edim's two wins.
- Michael Bennett headlined the performances for the Blue Devils with a strong, first-place showing in the men's heptathlon. Bennett totaled 5,514 points – No. 4 all-time at Duke – over two days of competition. He earned three first-place finishes across seven events, with his best heptathlon performances coming in the 60m, long jump and 1,000 meter.
- Edim sprinted her way to victory in the 60m via a dash of 7.42 seconds. She turned in a personal best (7.37) in the prelims, improving her No. 2 all-time program mark.
- Duke's third victory came via Gianna Locci in the women's long jump. Locci made her third time the charm and flew out to 5.80m (19-0.50 feet) to slot herself atop the field.
- Edim secured her second win of the day in the women's 200m, hitting the tape in 23.90 seconds.
- Gemma Tutton vaulted her way to a first-place finish in the women's pole vault. After passing on the first three heights, Tutton cleared the winning mark of 4.11m (13-5.75 feet).

UP NEXT:
Duke closes out the indoor regular season at a pair of meets over Valentine's weekend. Several Blue Devils head to Clemson, South Carolina, for the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational, while others head to Boston, Massachusetts, for the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Both meets are slated for Feb. 13-14.
