CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the fourth time in her 16 seasons at Duke,
Pam Bustin has been tabbed the ACC Coach of the Year, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Picked to finish third in the ACC preseason poll, Bustin and her coaching staff,
Ralph Boersma and
Jess Jecko, guided the Blue Devils to a 12-4 regular season record and a share of the regular season title. Duke concluded conference action with a 6-2 mark, tied for the most ACC victories in program history.
The Blue Devils totaled seven shutouts during the 2026 campaign, including four during ACC play. Duke won six consecutive games against top-20 opponents, finishing the regular season with a 6-3 ledger versus ranked foes. Bustin sports a 362-248 career record and a 200-120 mark at the helm of the Blue Devils.
In addition to Bustin collecting major honors, five Blue Devils garnered ACC honors for their respective performances during the 2026 regular season, led by graduate student
Alaina McVeigh, who earned her fourth straight All-ACC First Team selection. The junior trio of
Julia Boehringer,
Kaiya Chepow,
Callie Rogers and sophomore
Juliette Schulten all earned spots on the All-ACC Second Team. The honor is Boehringer's second of her career, while Chepow, Rogers and Schulten each garnered conference recognition for the first time.
McVeigh paces the Duke offense with eight goals and seven assists for 23 points, most recently becoming just the sixth Blue Devil all-time to produce 20-plus points in all four seasons. She has found her groove over the back half of the season and scored a goal in five of the last six contests. The Landsdale, Pennsylvania, native has dished out multiple assists on two occasions this season and currently ranks eighth and tied for eighth, respectively, in goals (53) and points (127) on the Duke career charts.
Boehringer has turned in a solid junior season following a breakout sophomore campaign in 2025. She is one of seven Blue Devils with multiple goals this season and is currently tied for second on the team with 15 points on six goals and three assists. Half of Boehringer's tallies on the year have come via the penalty corner, with the other three coming on penalty strokes (3-of-3). The Munich, Germany, standout matched a collegiate-best three goals for her second-career hat trick in the win over No. 12 Liberty, becoming the first Duke player since
Erin Scherrer (Sept. 16, 2018) to post a hat trick against a ranked opponent.
Chepow, a three-time Defensive Player of the Week selection (2 ACC, 1 NFHCA), has been rock solid in her second season as Duke's full-time starter in the cage. She currently sits atop the ACC in shutouts (6) and shutouts per game (.375), while ranking second in goals against average (1.22). The junior netminder has anchored the Duke back line and helped the Blue Devils total seven clean sheets and hold nine opponents to fewer than five shot attempts.
Rogers has started all 16 games for Duke and fit in seamlessly in her first season as a Blue Devil. The Richmond, Virginia, native has tallied four goals and two assists for 10 points, which sits fourth on the team. Rogers has proved to be a major threat on the penalty corner for Duke, getting three of her four markers off set pieces.
Hailing from Rotterdam, Netherlands, Schulten has showed no signs of a sophomore slump this season and is tied for fifth in scoring with four goals and an assist for nine points -- six more than she had in 21 games last year. She has been a go-to on set pieces for the Blue Devils as a hitter at the top of the circle, with all four of her markers coming on the penalty corner. Defensively, she has aided Duke to seven shutouts, the second-most in the ACC, and helped the team hold 10 foes to less than 10 shots and nine opponents to fewer than five attempts.
Duke gears up for the ACC Championships, which will take place Nov. 3-6 in Chapel Hill. The third-seeded Blue Devils will take on No. 6 seed Boston College in the quarterfinals Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m.
