DURHAM, N.C. – Duke head football coach Manny Diaz announced Tuesday that wide receiver Jared Richardson, a 2025 FCS All-America selection, has signed a financial aid agreement to attend the institution and join the Blue Devil gridiron program.
The 6-2, 220-pound Richardson played in 33 games with 29 starts for Penn the past four years. He helped the Quakers to a combined record of 24-16. This fall, Penn went 6-4 with a 4-3 Ivy mark.
Richardson, coming off one of the finest seasons in Penn history, earned first team All-America recognition from Sports Illustrated and the American Football Coaches Association as well as second-team nods from the Associated Press and Stats Perform.
The unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection topped the league with 80 receptions for 1,033 yards (12.91) and 12 touchdowns during the 2025 campaign. He finished second nationally with 103.30 receiving yards per game and became only the sixth student-athlete in school history to exceed 1,000 receiving yards in a season, and the first since 2017. Richardson posted two three-touchdown outings (Columbia, Harvard) and two more two-score games (Lehigh, Marist). He is the only player in school history with more than two career games of three receiving touchdowns.
Richardson, a Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, native, will have one season of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2026 campaign.
As a junior in 2024, Richardson appeared in all 10 games, hauling in 46 passes for a team-high 684 yards (14.87) and seven touchdowns. His sophomore year in 2023 was exceptional with 67 grabs for 788 yards (11.76) and eight scores. He added one pass completion for 26 yards. During his first season with the Quakers, in 2022, he appeared in four games and did not record any statistics.
During his career, Richardson has totaled 193 receptions for 2,505 yards (12.98) and 27 touchdowns. He graduated third in school history in receiving yards, fourth in catches and tied for second in TDs.
