DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's lacrosse head coach Kerstin Kimel has announced the addition of 10 freshmen who will arrive at Duke in a couple of weeks and join the squad for the 2026 season.
The 10 freshmen joining the Blue Devils include – Chase Collins, Caroline Doyle, Cat LeTendre, Caroline McCullough, Taylor Murphy, Bella Perry, Stella Pence, Sydney Trout, Ashly White and Quinn Whitaker.
Collins, a defender from Rowayton, Conn., comes to Durham after earning All-America honors and All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) honorable mention recognition twice during her high school career. She was a five-time letterwinner at Deerfield, earning an additional letter as an eighth grader. Her high school did not track individual statistics.
Doyle, an attacker from Rye, N.Y., joins the Blue Devils after lettering four years at Rye High School. She totaled 174 goals, 27 assists and 88 draw controls over her career. Doyle was a three-time New York State Public High School Athletic Association All-League and All-Section honoree. She was named a USA Lacrosse Academic All-America as a junior after she scored 41 goals, paired with seven helpers and 40 draw controls. She earned USA Lacrosse All-America recognition as a senior after posting a career-best 60 goals, while also dishing out five assists and earning 48 marks at the draw circle.
LeTendre, a native of Vienna, Va., joins the Blue Devils after spending the last four years at the Potomac School, where she was a four-year varsity letterwinner. LeTendre totaled 129 goals, 31 assists, 321 draw controls, 81 ground balls and forced 39 turnovers over her career. The midfielder garnered USA Lacrosse All-America recognition from her sophomore through her senior year. She was also a first-team All-Independent School League (ISL) pick all four years and a first-team Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) All-State pick her junior and senior years. She had a breakout senior season, registering career bests in goals (48) and draw controls (111). LeTendre was also recognized with the USA Lacrosse Jackie Pitts Award her senior year – an award that honors high school seniors who go above and beyond in service to their team, school and community.
McCullough, a midfielder from Hingham, Mass., joins the Blue Devils after a strong four-year career at Noble and Greenough School. She was a four-time letterwinner and totaled 30 goals, 32 assists, 31 ground balls, 54 caused turnovers and 66 draw controls during her time with the program. As a junior, McCullough was named to the ISL and the All-NEPSAC teams as an honorable mention. She capped her senior season, setting career-best marks, as she scored 20 goals, dished out 18 assists, earned 49 marks at the draw circle and forced 22 turnovers. She earned selections to the All-ISL and All-NEPSAC teams, was named the ISL Defensive MVP, garnered USA Lacrosse All-America honors and was recognized as a Boston Globe All-Scholastic selection.
Murphy, a standout attacker from Rosemont, Pa., joins the Blue Devils after a record-setting career at Radnor High School, where she graduated as the program's all-time leading goal scorer with 223 goals and added 133 assists. A four-year letterwinner, Murphy earned All-Central League and All-Delaware County honorable mention honors as a freshman, was named to the All-Central League Second Team and earned All-Delaware County honorable mention as a sophomore. Her junior year marked a breakout season as she netted a career-best 71 goals and dished out 49 assists. She earned All-Central League First Team honors, garnered USA Lacrosse All-America honors and was a finalist for the Philly Lacrosse Player of the Year. As a senior, she recorded 62 goals and 35 assists. She was again named to the All-Central League First Team, earned USA Lacrosse All-America honors and was selected as the Pennsylvania Area Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Perry comes to Duke after spending the last four years at St. Paul's School, where she was a four-year letterwinner as a goalkeeper. The native of Wellesley, Mass., totaled 321 saves and registered a 52.4 save percentage. Along with her saves, she picked up 58 ground balls and forced 41 turnovers. From her sophomore year to her senior year, she was named a Lake Region All-Star. In her junior year, she matched a career-best with 91 saves – a mark she set in her freshman year. After her junior campaign, she garnered Academic All-America recognition, and in her senior year, she received All-America honors from USA Lacrosse.
Pence, a native of Great Falls, Va., joins the Blue Devils following a decorated career at the Potomac School, where she was a four-year varsity letterwinner and graduated as the program's all-time leader in both points (386) and assists (162), while also scoring 224 goals. On the other end of the field, she tallied 55 caused turnovers. The attacker earned VISAA All-State First Team and ISL All-League honors in each of her four seasons and was named a USA Lacrosse All-America as both a junior and senior. In her junior campaign, she totaled 117 points on 76 goals and 41 assists, along with a career-best 22 caused turnovers, earning Washington Post All-Met Second Team recognition. As a senior, she recorded 50 goals, 14 assists and 12 caused turnovers and was named a USA Lacrosse Mid-Atlantic Player of the Week.
Trout, a midfielder from Pentucket, Mass., arrives in Durham following a standout career at Pentucket Regional High School. A three-time varsity letterwinner, Trout totaled 106 goals, 108 assists, 53 caused turnovers, 111 ground balls and 241 draw controls throughout her career. As a sophomore, she tallied 44 goals, 29 assists and 82 draw controls, earning New Balance All-America honors and Cape Ann League (CAL) First Team All-Star recognition. During her senior season, Trout scored 38 goals, dished out 48 helpers, picked up 44 ground balls and earned 91 marks at the draw circle. She was named a USA Lacrosse All-Academic selection, CAL First Team All-Star, CAL Scholastic Athlete of the Year and Northshore Student-Athlete of the Year. She also received the MIAA Sportsmanship Award.
White joins the Blue Devils following a standout career at Owen J. Roberts High School in Pottstown, Pa., where she was a four-year varsity letterwinner as a defender. Throughout her career, she totaled 181 ground balls, 114 caused turnovers, 144 draw controls and added 13 goals. White was named the Pioneer Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive MVP, earned All-PAC First Team honors as a junior and was selected as both her team's and league's MVP while being named to the All-PAC First Team her senior year.
Whitaker, a middie from Wayne, Pa., spent the past four years lettering for Episcopal Academy. Over that span, she totaled 197 goals, 50 assists, 231 draw controls, 113 ground balls and 117 caused turnovers. As a freshman, she was named the Pennsylvania Area Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association (PASLA) Rookie of the Year and earned second-team All-Delaware County (All-Delco) honors after scoring 34 goals, distributing three assists, recording 38 draw controls, collecting 22 ground balls and forcing 19 turnovers. From her sophomore through senior seasons, she earned first-team All-Delco recognition and garnered All-America honors from USA Lacrosse. Whitaker had an impressive senior season, tallying a career-high 62 goals, 15 assists, 63 draw controls, 38 ground balls and 33 caused turnovers. Following her standout campaign, she was named the Philly Lacrosse Player of the Year and the Delco Player of the Year.
The freshmen will join the squad alongside Avery Doran, a transfer from Brown, and McKenzie Olsen, a transfer from Syracuse. The Blue Devils are also returning 24 letterwinners.
On attack, Duke brings back rising junior Bella Goodwin, who scored 53 goals last season — the third most on the team. The Blue Devils also return rising redshirt senior Eva Pronti, the team's top distributor, who set the program's single-season assist record with her 49 dimes last season.
On the defensive end, the Blue Devils return rising sophomore Amanda Paci, who led the team with 28 caused turnovers and 26 ground balls last season. Joining her are seniors Madison Beale and Sydney Smith, who stepped into starting roles last season.
