Fourteen Blue Devils Earn NFCA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

DURHAM, N.C. – Fourteen members of the Duke softball program earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar-Athlete recognition as the organization unveiled its honorees for the 2024-25 academic year.
Jada Baker, Sophie Garner-MacKinnon, Kairi Rodriguez and Aminah Vega highlighted the Blue Devils' selections after earning the acknowledgement for the third consecutive year.
Amiah Burgess, Cassidy Curd, Dakota Farmer, Linh Le, KK Mathis and Aleyah Terrell earned the honor for the second time in their careers, while Ava Bradshaw, Ana Gold, D'Auna Jennings and Hailey Shuler were each recognized for the first time.
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division III led the way with 2,565 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2024-25. NCAA Division I followed with 2,544 and NCAA Division II with 2,179. Junior colleges and NAIA came in with 895 and 1,010 student-athletes respectively.
