DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke men's golf team had five selections to the 2024-25 All-ACC Academic Team, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Kelly Chinn,
Luke Sample and
William Love all were named to an All-ACC Academic for the third time in their respective careers, while
Bryan Kim secured his second consecutive honor and
Ethan Evans picked up the first of his career. The Blue Devils have now had at least five All-ACC Academic honorees in three straight seasons and across seven of the last nine campaigns.Â
Sample and Chinn both graduated with a degree in Economics this May. Love, a rising senior, is joined by Kim, a rising junior, as teammates who have earned an All-ACC Academic nod in every possible season so far in their Duke careers. Evans, a rising senior, makes his debut on the All-ACC Academic list this season, while majoring in Economics.
Kim, an All-ACC selection for the 2024-25 season, led Duke in several major categories this season, including stroke average (71.44), score to par (+2) and average vs. par (+0.1). Kim finished his sophomore season with a career stroke average of 72.01, good for fifth all-time in the Duke record books, while his single-season stroke average of 71.44 ranks ninth in program history.
Academic requirements for selection to the team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in 50 percent of their team's contests and/or the ACC Championships and/or the NCAA Championships during the most recent season.
