EUGENE, Ore. – Freshman
Joseph Taylor concluded a phenomenal rookie campaign with a bang as the Toledo, Ohio product secured United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) All-America First Team status behind a strong showing in the men's 400m final.
The lone freshman to qualify for the men's 400m final, Taylor rose to the occasion in a tightly-contested race and delivered a top-five finish behind his dash of 45.83 seconds. With the performance, Taylor garnered his second USTFCCCA All-America honor of the week, pairing it with his nod to the second team earned as a member of the 4x400m relay.
At the conclusion of all 21 men's NCAA Championships events, Duke finishes the national meet tied for 35th place with 8.5 points. The Blue Devils put a bow on an incredible season that saw the Duke men capture its first ACC Outdoor Championship, establish seven new program records and set 24 top-five program marks.
