DURHAM, N.C. – No. 19 Duke defeated Notre Dame, 2-1, in the second game of the conference series at Duke Softball Stadium Friday night. With the win, the Blue Devils secured their sixth ACC series victory of the season.
Duke improves to 34-13 overall and 14-6 in conference action while Notre Dame dips to 20-26-1 on the year and 6-14 in ACC play.

D'Auna Jennings led the Blue Devils' offense, batting a perfect 2-for-2 during the contest. Redshirt sophomore
Kairi Rodriguez finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a solo home run as her lone hit on the night.
Graduate student
Dani Drogemuller tossed her seventh complete game of the season, surrendering one unearned run off three hits with three strikeouts in 7.0 innings. The Frankfort, Ill., native improved to 13-5 on the year after 28 appearances in the circle.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Notre Dame opened the scoring in the top of the first, using a base hit, Blue Devil error and sacrifice fly to plate its lone run of the game.
- Rodriguez evened the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the second with a solo home run over the left field wall.
- Jennings knocked in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI-single up the middle. Her base hit scored Baker from second after she reached on an infield single and moved up on a groundout from junior Aleyah Terrell.
- Drogemuller and the Blue Devil defense held strong over the final two frames, allowing just one baserunner, to secure the 2-1 victory.
NOTES
- Rodriguez tallied her sixth home run of the season and second of the series.
- The West Palm Beach, Fla., native homered in back-to-back games for just the second time in her career.
- Jennings and Baker recorded their 15th and sixth multi-hit performance of the year, respectively.
- With an infield single in the bottom of the sixth, senior Ana Gold has successfully reached base in 19 straight games.
- Duke earned its third straight series victory over Notre Dame and shift the all-time series to a 10-7 advantage.
