Rivers earned All-America honors from The Athletic (Second Team), College Football Network (Second Team), the Associated Press (Third Team) and Phil Steele (Fourth Team) last fall in addition to his First Team All-ACC pick. The Beaumont, Texas, product started all 13 games and compiled 54 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, three interceptions, two caused fumbles, one fumble recovery, eight pass breakups and three quarterback pressures.
An All-ACC selection, Rivers tied for PFF's highest defense grade (90.7) among Power Four cornerbacks nationally in 2024. According to PFF, he had the second-highest coverage grade (89.8) among cornerbacks nationally. He was ranked by PFF as the No. 40 overall player in college football during the 2024 season.
Already this offseason, Rivers has been named to ESPN's and Athlon Sports' 2025 Way-Too-Early All-America Second Teams. As PFF notes, "Rivers has versatility as both an outside corner and nickel defender and is an expert at reading the quarterback's eyes in zone coverage. He's also a weapon as a blitzer, placing second among Power Four corners with nine pressures last year."
