DURHAM, N.C. – With the 2025 edition of the Augusta National Women's Amateur (ANWA) set to commence Wednesday, a total of five Duke women's golfers will compete on one of the biggest stages for amateur golf from April 2-5 in Augusta, Ga.

Katie Li, 2024 graduates
Phoebe Brinker and
Emma McMyler as well as incoming freshman
Avery McCrery. Fellow incoming freshman
Rianne Malixi was set to compete, but was forced to withdraw Tuesday due to an injury. The five golfers rank as the second-most by a team only behind Stanford with seven.
The event is set to take place April 2-3 at Champions Retreat Golf Club and April 5 at Augusta National Golf Club.
Li, Smith and McCrery will compete in the ANWA for the first time in their career, while McMyler will see action in her second and Brinker for the fourth time.
An international field of 72 women amateurs will compete over 54 holes of stroke play. A cut will take place after 36 holes, advancing the leading 30 players to the final round at Augusta National Golf Club. In the event of a tie after 54 holes, the winner will be decided by sudden-death playoff.
The first 36 holes will be contested over two days on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 4. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 5 and will feature the top 30 competitors who made the cut.
In the latest Women's Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), Duke features five in the top 140 – Malixi (4), Smith (62), Li (89), McMyler (91) and Brinker (137). The 2025 ANWA is being mentioned to be the most competitive tournaments in the history of amateur golf with 49 of the top 50 amateurs ranked in the WAGR.
The five Duke participants in 2025 equals the first competition in 2019 with five Blue Devils –

Virginia Elena Carta,
Gina Kim,
Jaravee Boonchant and
Ana Belac.
Over the five years of action, Duke will now have 21 spots taken up by Blue Devils that will compete with the other top amateur golfers in the country.
For a third consecutive year, Golf Channel will provide live coverage of the first and second rounds of the Augusta National Women's Amateur from Champions Retreat Golf Club. NBC Sports will broadcast the event's final round from Augusta National Golf Club.
To watch head to the Golf Channel Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The final round will be aired on NBC from 12-3 p.m. Golf Channel's "Live From the Masters" will begin Friday, April 4 from Augusta National and wrap the ANWA coverage on Saturday.
Wednesday's first round tee times are Brinker at 8:35 a.m., McCrery at 8:46 a.m., Smith at 9:32 a.m., McMyler at 9:55 a.m., and Li at 10:07 a.m. All five Blue Devils will tee off No. 10 to start their rounds.
