CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The awards keep rolling in for Duke track and field graduate student
Simen Guttormsen as the Ski, Norway product was tapped the 2025 ACC Men's Indoor Field Performer of Year Friday afternoon.
Recently named to the 2025 Bowerman Post-NCAA Indoor Championships Watch List and the USTFCCCA Southeast Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year, Guttormsen's distinction comes on the heels of dominant indoor campaign that saw the graduate student win three of the four meets he competed in.
Guttormsen capped his sensational indoor season with a bang by claiming the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championship and USTFCCCA All-America First Team honors in the men's pole vault. Guttormsen notched a facility record of 5.71m (18-8.75 feet) to claim the win, becoming the second Duke man all-time to win an indoor title.
Prior to that, Guttormsen vaulted his way to the gold medal and All-ACC First Team honors at the ACC Indoor Championships courtesy of a 5.67m (18-7.25 feet) clearance. The graduate student's mark shattered both the ACC and meet records while improving his own school record in the process.
Duke continues competition at the Raleigh Relays this weekend, with the three-day meet slated for March 27-29 at the Paul Derr Track.
