Duke returns home for a pair of ACC contests, hosting Boston College Jan. 1 and Notre Dame Jan. 4. The Blue Devils are 7-6 overall, 2-0 in league action and riding a four-game win streak. Each of the past four wins have come by at least 15 points with the average margin of victory being 27.25.
Duke's six losses are against the current NET No. 5 LSU, No. 4 UCLA, No. 2 South Carolina, No. 21 West Virginia, No. 33 Baylor and No. 73 South Florida. The Blue Devils are led on offense by sophomore Toby Fournier's 17.5 points per game. Ashlon Jackson is dropping 12.3 points per game and Taina Mair follows with an average of 11.8 to round out the double-digit scorers. Fournier and Delaney Thomas lead the charge on the glass, averaging 7.4 and 6.1 rebounds per game, respectively. Fournier is the top rim protector, averaging 2.5 blocks per game, while Jordan Wood is at 1.3 per game. Mair is the floor general, dishing 5.2 assists to 2.8 turnovers per game.
Boston College comes into Cameron Indoor Stadium with a 4-11 overall record and 0-2 mark in ACC play. The Eagles most recently fell to North Carolina, 90-39, Monday night in Chapel Hill. Lily Carmody and Teionni Mcdaniel are the top scorers at 12.1 and 10 points per game, respectively. Kayla Rolph is BC's top rebounder at 5.4 per game while Athena Tomlinson is the playmaker with 5.53 assists per game. Overall, opponents have shot well against Boston College this season, knocking down 45 percent of their looks.
Duke looks to carry its winning ways into the New Year. The Blue Devils are facing Boston College for the 26th time since the first matchup in 1989. Duke is 19-6 all-time versus the Eagles and has won three straight. Boston College's last win against Duke came inside Cameron Indoor Stadium Feb. 24, 2022 - a 67-51 triumph. The Blue Devils are 10-2 all-time against BC in Durham and 16-4 overall in conference contests.

Sophomore Toby Fournier headlines the offense, averaging 17.5 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game. She has registered double digits in 12 of her 13 games and has put together three consecutive 20-point showings. Ashlon Jackson is chipping in 12.3 points per game, while Taina Mair is averaging 11.8, including a season-high 22 points against South Dakota State. Mair is the quarterback of the offense, adding 5.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game and a team-best 31 steals. Delaney Thomas has been a consistent presence, averaging 9.2 points and shooting at least 50 percent in 12 of 13 games. She also grabs 6.1 rebounds per game and helps lead Duke's defense with 25 steals.
Duke is shooting 42 percent from the field while holding opponents to 38 percent shooting.
Numbers Behind the Win Streak
The Blue Devils have won four straight to get themselves back above .500 (7-6) on the season. Duke is averaging 78.5 points per game, has a +27.3 scoring margin and has shot 44.4 percent in the four-game stretch. On the glass, Duke sports a +13.5 rebounding margin, compared to just +8.0 in November non-conference games against unranked opponents.
Defensively, the Blue Devils are holding opponents to just 51.3 points per game, 31.8 percent shooting and only 21 percent from distance.

Toby Fournier has shined for the Blue Devils during the four-game win streak, averaging 21.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. She has done well to stay out of foul trouble, committing just four fouls, while blocking 11 shots in that span.
Overall, Duke has four players averaging double digits over the four games. Three players are averaging at least three assists per game during the win streak, including Riley Nelson who has upped her assist average from 1.6 to 3.25.

Mair Does It All
Mair has done it all this season for the Blue Devils, leading the the ACC in minutes (33.51/gm). She has scored double-digits in seven of the 13 games, collected at least five rebounds in eight contests and picked up three-plus steals six times. The Boston native's 31 steals are sixth in the ACC. Mair has led Duke in points four times, rebounds three times, assists in eight games and steals five times.
With 19 points and three assists at South Florida, Mair became the fifth player to reach 1,000 career points and 500 career assists while wearing a Blue Devil uniform. She is the sixth to hit 500 assists. Needing 38 rebounds to surpass 500, Mair would be just the third Duke player to finish her collegiate career at Duke with those three milestones. Mair currently is the lone guard in the ACC to have 1,000 points and 500 assists and ranks fifth among active players with 542 assists. She is on pace to become the fifth active player in Division I women's basketball to have the 1,000, 500, 500 trifecta. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Redshirt sophomore Riley Nelson saw her first action as a Blue Devil against Baylor in Paris. It was the first game for the Clarksburg, Maryland, native in 659 days, dating back to Jan. 14, 2024, in a Maryland uniform. Â
Nelson is starting to figure out the Duke offense, distributing 16 assists in the past five games, 62 percent of her total of 26 this season. In the past four games, Nelson is averaging 11.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.25 assists per game with three double-digit outings, including a career-high 17 points at Belmont.
