DURHAM, N.C. – Duke kick returner Sahmir Hagans was named the ACC Specialist of the Week following the Blue Devils' 49-32 victory versus Wake Forest on Saturday. The honor is the second of the month for Hagans, who was also tabbed the league's specialist of the week after Duke's win at Clemson on November 1.Â
Saturday, on his Senior Day, Hagans returned two kickoffs for 101 total yards, including a long of 80.Â
 Â
With Wake Forest having pulled within 10 points on the final play of the third quarter, Hagans, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., returned the ensuing kickoff 80 yards to give Duke a short field. The Blue Devils punched in a 13-yard touchdown to make it a 17-point advantage and put the game out of reach. In the second quarter, Hagans returned a kickoff 21 yards.Â
Hagans leads the ACC in both kickoff return yards with 454 and average at 34.92 yards per runback.
The ACC's other weekly honors included California's Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele (quarterback and rookie) and Raphael Kendrick (running back), Miami's Malachi Toney (receiver), NC State's Jacarrius Peak (offensive lineman), Louisville's T.J. Quinn (linebacker) and Clemson's T.J. Parker (defensive lineman) and Ricardo Jones (defensive back).
