DURHAM, N.C. – Duke senior kicker Todd Pelino was named the ACC Specialist of the Week following the Blue Devils' 32-25 victory at North Carolina on Saturday.
Pelino drilled a 33-yard field goal, but his biggest play was a 26-yard rush that set up Duke's game-winning touchdown.Â
With Duke trailing 25-24 with 2:26 remaining at North Carolina and facing a fourth-and-three from the Tar Heel 27-yard line, Pelino ran a fake field goal 26 yards to the North Carolina one-yard line. From there, Anderson Castle punched in his third rushing touchdown of the game with Nate Sheppard catching a two-point conversion to account for the final points in the Blue Devils' comeback 32-25 win.
 Â
Pelino, a native of Cornelius, N.C., owns the longest run by a kicker this fall. He also converted all three extra point kicks to give him six points on the day. Pelino is just five points away from becoming Duke's second 300-point career scorer.Â
The ACC's other weekly honors included Miami's Carson Beck (quarterback) and Akheem Mesidor (defensive lineman), Pittsburgh's Ja'Kyrian Turner (running back and rookie) and Braylan Lovelace (linebacker), Wake Forest's Carlos Hernandez (receiver), SMU's Logan Parr (offensive line) and NC State's Devon Marshall (defensive back).
