SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Duke women's basketball junior wing Jadyn Donovan (Upper Marlboro, Md./Sidwell Friends) was selected to the preseason watch list for the 2026 Cheryl Miller Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and Women's Basketball Coaches Association revealed Wednesday afternoon.
Currently in its ninth year, the Cheryl Miller Award honors the top small forward in Division I women's basketball. It is named after the three-time Naismith Player of the Year and Class of 1995 Hall of Famer.
A Swiss Army knife and defensive anchor for the Blue Devils, Donovan started all 37 games and showcased her versatility as she averaged 5.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. She was one of just eight players in the Power 4 to average at least 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals.
The ACC All-Defensive Team honoree paced Duke in rebounding (235) and blocks (49) during the year, posting 19 games with seven or more rebounds and 13 contests with at least two blocks. She also ranked third on the team in assists (78) and fourth in steals (49). Offensively, Donovan reached double figures four times, including a career-high performance of 23 points, 15 rebounds, four dimes and four takeaways at South Dakota State (Nov. 17). She became just the fifth Duke player all-time to record a stat line of 20 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Fans are encouraged to participate in fan voting in each of the three rounds starting Friday, Oct. 31. In late January, the watch list of 20 players for the 2026 Cheryl Miller Award will be narrowed to 10, and then in late February to just five. In March, the five finalists will be presented to Miller and the Hall of Fame selection committee, where winners will be selected. The selection committee for the Cheryl Miller Award is composed of top women's college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers.
