Yu Adds Coca-Cola Campus Ambassadorship to Her Resume

DURHAM, N.C. — Between balancing academics, tennis, and career ambitions, junior women's tennis student-athlete Eleana Yu has added another title to her growing list of achievements: Coca-Cola Campus Ambassador for Duke University.

Yu, a native of Mason, Ohio, was first contacted by Coca-Cola through Instagram, which sparked her curiosity about the program.
Â
"I figured it looked kind of cool, so I applied," Yu said. "I actually forgot about the application until I got an email inviting me to interview and then it all happened pretty fast after that."
Â
After being selected as Duke's sole campus ambassador, Yu traveled to Atlanta for a week-long training at Coca-Cola's headquarters, where she met representatives from other brands like Powerade, Sprite, and BodyArmor, as well as other student ambassadors from across the country.

"It was such a cool experience, because I was able to meet all the campus ambassadors from all the other schools," Yu said.
Â
As part of her role, Yu hosts sampling events around campus each month, handing out Coca-Cola products, engaging with the students, and sharing new flavors.
Â
"It's been really fun," Yu said. "I've gotten to meet so many people I wouldn't have otherwise."
Â
Coca-Cola's Durham bottling team helps coordinate product deliveries, dropping off the supplies for sampling events alongside their usual campus shipments.

"They've been super helpful and supportive," Yu added.
Â
Off the court and outside her ambassador duties, Yu is already setting her sights on a career in finance. After spending last summer working in private credit in Houston, she's lined up an investment banking internship in New York next summer.

"I just like exploring every opportunity I can. I figured this was going to be a really cool experience to be able to be part of a network and brand like Coca-Cola," Yu said.

Yu will continue to host events throughout the semester, including seasonal promotions like Fanta's new Halloween-themed flavors. For now, she's enjoying her role as Duke's student link to one of the world's most recognizable brands.
