ORLANDO, Fla. – The 2025 Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) season kicks off Thursday, Jan. 30 with the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions at the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Fla. The event will take place Jan. 30 through Feb. 2 and features two Duke women's golfers –
Celine Boutier and
Leona Maguire.
The tournament features 32 golfers and 49 celebrities and amateurs. The LPGA golfers will play 72 holes with no cut, while the celebrities and amateurs will play a modified stableford scoring with no cut. The LPGA purse is $2 million with the winning prize being $300,000.
Duke features seven Blue Devil golfers on the LPGA Tour in 2025 with Boutier, Maguire,
Yu Liu,
Lindy Duncan,
Ana Belac,
Miranda Wang and
Brittany Lang. The next LPGA event with a larger field will take place Feb. 6-9 at the Founders Cup presented by U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Blue Devils will also have
Jaravee Boonchant on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA), while
Laetitia Beck,
Gina Kim,
Erica Shepherd,
Anne Chen and eventually
Emma McMyler on the Epson Tour. Numerous Blue Devils will also compete on the Ladies European Tour, which opens Feb. 6-8 in Morocco. The Epson Tour will start in late February, while the KLPGA is expected to start in March.
Over the last two seasons professionally, Duke golfers have earned an impressive $9,955,264.70 with 10 wins, 59 top 10 finishes, 112 top 20 placements and 362 rounds in the 60s.
