LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Following an impressive season with the Duke women's soccer team in 2024,
Ella Hase has signed her first professional contract with Racing Louisville FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).
Hase, a product of Orland Park, Ill., inked a two-year deal with Racing Louisville with an agreement that includes a mutual option for the 2027 campaign.
"I'm extremely honored and excited to begin my professional career with Racing Louisville," said Hase. "I'm thrilled to start the year off learning, training, growing and winning with the club. I can't wait to get started."
A left-footed wingback, Hase finished second in Division I soccer this past season with 13 assists, helping the Blue Devils claim the ACC regular season title with an impressive 9-0-1 ledger and advance to the NCAA College Cup for the fifth time in program history.
Hase earned All-ACC Second Team accolades along with NCAA College Cup All-Tournament team honors on the year. She started 21-of-22 matches, including the final 21 of the season, and added three goals. Hase also helped lead Duke to 12 shutouts on the defensive end. Hase's 13 assists on the year ranked tied for third on Duke's all-time record charts.
"We've been following Ella for a while and have been so impressed with her demeanor," said Racing coach Bev Yanez. "She never stops and works so hard on both sides of the ball. With her ability in combination with her character, we feel she's a great addition to our club. We're looking forward to having her here."
Over her five collegiate seasons, she started 88-of-93 matches at both Duke and Northwestern. She notched 17 goals, 23 assists and 57 points over her final three years, after playing defense her first two seasons with the Wildcats. Hase totaled seven game-winning goals of her 17 over her career.
Hase will join Racing Louisville for the start of preseason, which begins Monday, Jan. 20.
