Gaetano Console picked up his first dual match win of the season with a 14-4 major decision victory against Marc Koch of Davidson. He now owns 10 dual match wins over his career.

Aidan Wallace owns a team-best 20 wins on the season and holds a 20-6 ledger heading into the Gardner-Webb contest. He recently posted a 5-1 record at the Southern Scuffle and placed second overall. Wallace has won 13 out of his last 16 matches.

Raymond Adams has won two out of his last four dual matches with victories against Presbyterian and Davidson at the 133 pounds.Â

• The Duke wrestling team opened ACC play Friday in Raleigh and dropped a 47-0 decision at fifth-ranked NC State, which was held inside James T. Valvano Arena at William Neal Reynolds Coliseum.

The match opened at 133-pounds with Duke's
Raymond Adams falling with a 12-1 major decision to seventh-ranked Kai Orine. Duke dropped the next three bouts heading into 165 pounds and trailed 18-0.

Winner of 13 out of his last 15 contests, 29th-ranked
Aidan Wallace faced 32nd-ranked Derek Fields. After a 0-0 first period, Wallace took a 1-0 lead on an escape, but Fields registered a take down and led 3-1 entering the final two minutes. Fields grabbed an escape and take down, while Wallace added an escape to drop a 7-2 decision.
Heading into the heavyweight match with a pair of ranked wrestlers, the Wolfpack led 38-0.

Duke's 30th-ranked
Connor Barket faced fourth-ranked Isaac Trumble. Barket, who hails from West Lafayette, Ind., ended up dropping just his fifth match of the year with a 19-2 tech fall.

WALLACE & BARKET PLACE AT SOUTHERN SCUFFLE

Aidan Wallace turned in a second-place finish to close action at the Southern Scuffle, which was held at UT-Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tenn.

For the weekend in the 165-pound weight class, Wallace posted a 5-1 ledger along with his first two ranked wins of his career and two seeded victories. He became the first Duke finalist at the event since Josh Finesilver in 2022.

On Sunday, Wallace opened action in the semifinals with a 10-6 decision against 32nd-ranked Tate Picklo of Oklahoma. In the finals, Wallace dropped an 18-3 tech fall to 13th-ranked Gunner Filipowicz of Army.

Redshirt sophomore
Connor Barket turned in a seventh-place ledger on the weekend with a 4-2 record in the heavyweight bracket. Barket posted a fall at the 5:39 mark against Virginia's Gabe Christenson and then dropped a 14-4 major decision against Hunter Catka of Virginia Tech. In the seventh-place match, Barket posted a 10-2 major decision against Daulton Mayer of Bellarmine to close action.
