The third-ranked Duke women's soccer team (6-1-0, 1-0-0 ACC) returns back home this week to Koskinen Stadium to open a three-match homestand against SMU (6-3-2, 2-0-2 ACC) on Friday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m.
Friday's contest will be aired live on ACC Network Extra with Ian Unsworth (PXP) on the call.
On the season, Duke has scored 23 goals by 12 different players.
The Blue Devils have won six straight matches, which marks the longest winning streak since 2021. Under head coach Robbie Church, Duke has posted 13 winning streaks of five matches or more with the longest coming in 2017 with 19 in a row.
Ella Hase scored her 16th career goal at Clemson on her 100th career shot.
Duke welcomed eight newcomers to the 2024 roster as head coach Robbie Church is in his 24th season in Durham. Church announced on July 22, 2024 he will be retiring at the end of the season and Duke will be promoting associate head coach Kieran Hall to head coach in 2025. Current assistant coach Carla Overbeckwill move to associate head coach in 2025 as well.Â
 STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES
Blue Devil head coach Robbie Churchis one win away from reaching 300 victories at Duke.
Duke has scored a goal in the first half in six straight matches, which is the longest streak since 2017 when the Blue Devils had eight matches in a row in August/September.
Devin Lynch has scored three goals over her last five matches, while starting the last three contests.
If Duke nets the win Friday against SMU, the Blue Devils will be undefeated with a 5-0 ledger in September. The only other time Duke has been unblemished in the month of September was in 2017 (8-0).
Maggie Graham has scored in two straight contests and owns four goals out of the last five matches. She has tallied a team-best four goals on the year and 12 over her five seasons. Graham's 10 points on the season ranks 10th in the ACC.
Carina Lageyre now owns a team-best five assists on the season, which ranks tied for fourth in the ACC.
The Blue Devils are averaging 21.6 shots a match and outshooting opponents by a 151-36 margin.
Duke has scored 23 goals the last six matches, while the Blue Devils scored a total of 15 goals a season ago in 16 contests.
Duke's 4-0 win against UNCW was the 250th win in program history at home.
The last time the Blue Devils dropped a season opener was in 2017. Duke went on to win 19 straight matches after the loss and made an appearance in the NCAA College Cup.
Duke was shutout in the season opener for the first time since 2014, which was also a loss to Ohio State (1-0).
The last time Duke head coach Robbie Church dealt with a losing season was in 2014 and the next year he led the Blue Devils to the 2015 NCAA College Cup.
Duke will take its eight natives of California back to their home state in October for a week-long road trip to play Stanford (Oct. 10) and California (Oct. 13).Â
 THE SERIES WITH SMU
Duke and SMU will meet for the first time since 1996.
The Blue Devils and Mustangs feature a 2-2-1 ledger in the series.
The last meeting came in Houston, Texas with the two squads posting a 0-0 draw.Â
In three meetings in Durham, Duke holds a 2-1-0 mark with the lone loss coming in the first meeting in 1990. All meetings have come between the 1990 through 1996 seasons.
Head coach Robbie Church holds a 1-0-1 record against SMU, with his most recent game taking place in 2000 where his Vanderbilt squad won, 2-1, in Dallas, Texas.
 SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
SMU enters Friday's contest with a 6-3-2 overall and 2-0-2 ACC ledger.Â
The Mustangs are coming off a 1-1 draw against No. 2 ranked Florida State at home. SMU is only 0-0-1 on the road this season.
SMU has been led by Eliana Salama (6 goals, 16 points) and Liz Eddy (11 points, 4 goals) on the year.
 HEY, I KNOW YOU!
Duke sophomore Cameron Roller will go up against former teammates Hali Hartman, Emma Alvord and Truth Byars when the Blue Devils and Mustangs face off Friday.
Roller is from Sherman, Texas, which is 40 minutes away from the SMU campus.
 HIGH-SCORING OFFENSE
Since the season opener, the Blue Devils have tallied 23 goals in six matches.Â
Duke has registered 23 goals over the first seven games this season, which is tied for the fifth-most in program history -- 29 (2012), 25 (1989, 1993), 24 (1990), 23 (2024, 1994).
The Blue Devils tallied four goals in the first half against Missouri. It was the most since Oct. 10, 2021 against ECU.Â
The seven goals against Missouri were a season high for the Blue Devils and the most since Nov. 21, 2021 against St. John's (7).
The 15 goals over the last three matches for the Blue Devils is the most since 2019. The most goals over a three game stretch are 18 goals (2004), 17 (1989), 16 (1995), 15 (2019, 1990, 2024).
 STRONG DEFENSE
Over seven matches, Duke has allowed only two goals against Ohio State in the season opener and at Clemson.
The Blue Devils had totaled five straight shutouts prior to allowing a first half goal against Clemson. Duke's scoreless streak of 511:94 ranked as the fifth-longest in program history (since 2002).
Duke's two goals allowed leads the ACC with the next closest being Stanford (3) and Florida State (3).
The Blue Devils rank tied for first nationally with two goals allowed on the year along with Auburn, Mississippi State and Rutgers. Â
The two goals allowed over the first seven games to open a season is tied for the fewest in program history – 2 (2024, 1988, 2005), 3 (1994, 2007, 2010, 2021).
Duke's defense has allowed only five corner kicks in the last six matches as well.
 LACK OF SHOTS/CORNERS
Duke's defense has only allowed 36 shots to open the season, which is the fewest allowed in the ACC (Florida State – 54).Â
The Blue Devils have allowed only 27 shots the last six matches for an average of 4.5 per game.Â

For the first time under the direction of head coach Robbie Church, the Blue Devils attempted 20+ shots in the opening three matches to start a season.Â
