DURHAM, N.C. – After moving to No. 8 nationally in the polls this week, the Duke women's soccer team erupted for a season-high seven goals in a 7-0 shutout win against Missouri on Thursday evening at Koskinen Stadium. Five different Blue Devils scored on the night with sophomore
Mia Minestrella coming off the bench to tally a career-high two goals.
The Blue Devils (5-1-0) won their fifth straight contest and moved their shutout streak to 485:48 minutes, which is the sixth-longest streak in school history (since 2002).
How It Happened
- After Missouri took the opening shot of the match that went off the crossbar, the Blue Devils came back to take the next three shots before getting on the board at the 19:04 mark.
- Graduate student Hannah Bebar served a great ball across the box, where junior Devin Lynch was there to send a header in front of the goal to graduate student Maggie Graham.A native of Atlanta, Ga., Graham settled the ball and pushed it past the line for her team-best third goal of the season.
- The Blue Devils added another couple of shots, before Bebar was taken down just outside the box.Fifth year Katie Groff stepped up and used her left foot to place the free kick into the top left corner for her first goal of the season to give Duke a 2-0 advantage in the 25th minute.
- At the 40:32 mark, sophomore Mia Minestrella and Julia Saunicheva performed a perfect give and go where Minestrella finished inside the right corner of the goal for her second tally of the season to put the Blue Devils ahead, 3-0.
- Near the end of the first half, sophomore Mia Oliaro served in a cross that went off a Missouri defender and into the goal for a 4-0 lead.
- Duke's four first half goals were the most since Oct. 10, 2021 when the Blue Devils totaled four against East Carolina at home in Durham.
- The Blue Devils wasted no time in the second half getting on the board again as fifth year Ella Hase used her left foot to send the ball across the front of the goal at the top of the 6-yard box, where Bebar leaped and headed into her first goal at Duke a minute and 40 seconds into the half.
- Oliaro joined the scoring frenzy at the 51:18 mark as junior Carina Lageyre passed her the ball and Oliaro showcased some good footwork, before firing a rocket from 20 yards that hit the crossbar and went into the goal for a 6-0 Blue Devil advantage. It marked her first goal as a Blue Devil.
- After freshman Sophia Recupero was taken down in the box, Duke was awarded a penalty kick in the 84th minute.Minestrella stepped up and finished her second goal of the match and tied for team-best third on the year to add a seventh goal on the board.
- For the match, Duke held a 23-5 shot advantage.Five different Blue Devils attempted three shots on the night – Lynch, Graham, Farrah Walters, Saunicheva and Minestrella.

- Maggie Graham totaled her 11th career goal and 33rd point of her career.
- With her first half tally, Katie Groff now owns seven goals and 20 points over her career.
- Duke has now scored 20 goals this season in six matches, after scoring 15 a year ago in 16 matches.
- Hannah Bebar now owns 18 career goals, 28 assists and 64 points over four seasons at Duke and Harvard.
- Leah Freeman started in goal for Duke and finished with one save. Freshman Caroline Dysart also added a save in a little over 15 minutes. Sophomore Bianca Dominguez saw the final 12 minutes in net as well.
- A total of 22 Blue Devils saw action on the night.
- Blue Devil head coach Robbie Church is now two wins away from reaching 300 at Duke over his 24 years.
- Duke moved to 4-0 this season at home and has outscored opponents by a 17-0 margin.
- The Blue Devils have now allowed only 22 shots the last five matches.
- Duke's five straight shutouts are the most in a row since 2021.
- The Blue Devils now own 133 shots over the first six games, which is the sixth-most in program history.
