DALLAS, Texas – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced Wednesday the 10 finalists for the Stopper of the Year Award, presented to the nation's best relief pitcher.
Duke right-hander
Charlie Beilenson was one of 10 finalists for the award, with the winner being announced on June 14 in Omaha, Neb., at the College World Series.
Beilenson, the All-ACC First Team relief pitcher and 2024 Dick Howser Trophy Semifinalist, tied the program record in a single season with 12 saves, posting a 2.01 ERA in his 34 appearances. He tallied a 7-3 record on the bump, working 62.2 innings and leading the team with 92 strikeouts. The Los Angeles, Calif., native held opponents to a .181 batting average against and allowed only 14 earned runs to cross.
During his time at Duke, Beilenson has produced a 2.92 ERA and tallied a 13-6 record on the mound. He has appeared in 73 games over the course of two seasons, working 123.1 innings and striking out 170 batters.
