COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Duke women's basketball incoming freshman
Arianna Roberson was selected as one of 26 athletes to participate in the 2024 USA Women's U18 National Team trials at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., USA Basketball announced Wednesday evening.
Trials begin May 15 with the 12-member team expected to be announced at the conclusion of trials. The 2024 FIBA U18 Women's AmeriCup is scheduled for June 17-23 in Bucaramanga, Colombia, and the team will reconvene in Colorado Springs on June 8 for training camp. Athletes attending trials were selected by the USA Basketball Women's Junior National Team Committee, chaired by DePaul University women's basketball head coach Doug Bruno.
A 6-4 center heralded as the No. 19 prospect in the espnW 2024 rankings and the No. 2 player out of the Lone Star State, Roberson has previous experience with USA Basketball having participated at the 2023 USA 3x3 Women's U17 National Team trials in Memphis during the 2023 NCAA College Basketball Academy, which also included the U.S. Open Championships.
Tabbed a 2024 McDonald's All-American, Roberson put up 18.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks during her senior year while helping lead Clark to a 33-3 overall record. The San Antonio, Texas native earned District 28-6A Co-MVP honors while also earning nods to the TABC Class 6A and TGCA Class 6A All-State teams, respectively.
The trials roster features 12 athletes representing the graduating class of 2024, while 14 represent the graduating class of 2025.
