STILLWATER, Okla. – Duke women's tennis freshman
Shavit Kimchi is set to compete in the 2024 NCAA Singles Championship, which kicks off Tuesday at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla. The championship will go from May 20-25.
Kimchi, a product of Sdey Hemed, Israel, will face 19th-ranked Sarah Hamner of South Carolina in the opening round Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. (ET).
One of the top freshmen nationally, Kimchi is currently ranked No. 63 nationally with a 17-11 overall singles ledger this season. She enters the NCAA Championship winning eight out of her last 11 matches. Kimchi owns five wins against nationally ranked opponents, including three in the top-50. Her highest ranked victory of the season came against No. 17 Elza Tomase of Tennessee in the fall.
A total of 64 players open action Tuesday in a single-elimination bracket.
