DURHAM – Third-ranked Duke softball heads to UNC Greensboro on Wednesday for a single non-conference matchup at UNCG Softball Stadium. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
The Blue Devils (37-4, 16-2 ACC) enter the midweek contest fresh off a 6-1 victory over No. 19 Clemson on Sunday night to complete the three-game sweep and earn the program's third consecutive ACC series sweep. With the win, head coach Marissa Young earned her 250th career victory and improves to 250-101 (.712) while at the helm of the Blue Devil program.
UNC Greensboro (25-19, 7-5 SoCon) is coming off a conference series loss to Chattanooga over the weekend. The Spartans fell 6-3 and 6-5 in a doubleheader on Saturday, before bouncing back to claim a 5-4 win in Sunday's series finale. The Spartans are paced by Brooklynn Maxwell with her .419 batting average, 36 RBI and 13 home runs on the year.
