The Opening Faceoff
- Duke heads into its final regular season home game Sunday against No. 2 Virginia. Faceoff is set for 2 p.m., on ACC Network. The Blue Devils are coming off a tough 15-12 setback to No. 1 Notre Dame and are looking for their second top-five victory.
- Duke and Virginia are meeting for the 89th time overall and for the 17th time as top-five foes. The Cavaliers are 51-37 against the Blue Devils, but Duke is 23-2 since 2005, including winning 18 consecutive regular-season contests.
- Virginia comes to Durham as the consensus No. 2 and sporting the nation's highest scoring attack unit at 13.55 points per game. The Cavaliers recently defeated North Carolina, 14-6. Virginia gives up just 9.73 points per game and is holding opponents to 25 percent shooting on the year. In goal, Matthew Nunes sports a .583 save percentage.
- The Duke defense has been solid this season, holding teams to just 9.31 goals per game to lead the ACC. The Blue Devils have held nine of the 13 opponents to under 30 percent shooting in a game, including five of the past six.
- Duke has next weekend off before making the short trip down Tobacco Road to take on North Carolina, April 27 at noon.

The Cavaliers lead the series 51-37, but Duke has won 23 of the past 25 outings against UVA and 18 straight in the regular season. Virginia's last regular-season victory in Koskinen was an 11-8 triumph April 12, 2003.
