DURHAM – Duke junior fencer
Allen Marakov has been named the PNC Achievers Blue Devil of the Month after garnering a bronze finish in the 2024 NCAA Fencing Championship.
A native of Basking Ridge, N.J., Marakov had his skills on full display in March. In the NCAA Regionals, he turned in a top-10 performance as he finished fifth as an epeeist.
Marakov's performance in March allowed him to collect his first All-America accolade during his Duke career with his finish in the epee competition. His third-place finish was the best of a Duke men's epeeist since 2014. This performance helped push Duke to a 10
th-place finish in the team standings with 73 points.
Marakov is a two-time NCAA Championship qualifier and a three-time USFCA All-Region Selection adding on to his already impressive resume.
